Take Action!!!
So, what have you done with all these goals you have set? The typical person would get excited for awhile, then put it aside and it's all forgotten after a while. Life continue the way the always was.
If you want to stay focused on these goals, you have to look at them every day. They have to be at the top of your mind! Place your goals where you can see it everyday, on your computer desk, computer wallpaper, beside your bed etc.
Organize your goals as a huge flow chart or a timeline where you can see your financial progression over the years. For each age milestone, list the goals that you would want to achieve at that particular age.
One of the key challenges you will face is to stay motivated over the long-term.
Procrastination is usually the number one killer of success. There are three powerful strategies you can use to get yourself to overcome procrastination and take action now!
1. Make a Public Commitment
When you share your dreams and goals with friends, family members and colleagues, you put yourself on the line to make it happen. When you make your goals known, some friends will never let you forget it!
2. Have an Action Plan
The most difficult thing to do is to take the first few steps towards a goal. However, you will find that the moment you take the few steps and start seeing progress, you will gain the momentum to continue.
For each of the goals that you set, write down three action steps that you must take within 2days of setting them.
For example, if your goal is to start an Internet business selling specialized cookbooks for cookies, what are three steps you could take immediately to get you committed?
Well, you could 1) register a domain name, 2) write up a business plan and 3) Pay $200 to register your business. I guarantee you that by taking these three steps immediately, your brain is going to take you seriously and get you to take even more action.
3. Find a Support Group
The number one reason for people losing their direction and motivation is because of the kind of people they hang around with everyday.
It is a common saying that 'friends make you or they break you'. The people you spend time with will greatly influence your dominant beliefs, values, thoughts and aspirations.
You can get really inspired and all the goals you've set but if you keep mixing around with and talking to friends who waste their time with idle chit chat and spend their free time clubbing, then you are going to lose the success battle.
If your peers do not share common interests or goals with you, I am sure you can find many like-minded people like you online, in forums or social networking sites. Personally, I found many in forums and definitely in APSense, and when we share ideas, we keep each other motivated and we have the urge to push on.
So, do whatever it takes to find a group of friends who share the same financial dreams as you and make it a commitment to support and push each other to reach their own goals.
To conclude, just remember SAP for the 3 strategies:
~ Support Group
~ Action Plan
~ Public Commitment

ALL THE GOOD INTENTIONS IN THE WORLD COME TO AA VOID IF NOT OLLOWED BY PLANNED DETERMINED action TO ACHIEVE THE SET GOALS ! yOU HAVE TO BURN ALL HIND BRIDGES and go on hammering in the head and ahead sweeping all the hurdles both personal aswell as impersonal! To add fuel to the fire of burning desire you have have a personal emotional trigger it may be anything you are passionate about it is your own personal emotional trigger called PET by some greatman

HAHAHA!! Laughing so hard I almost lost my morning coffee!
I wouldn't be too concerned about being nosey...lol..most people are whether we like to admit it or not! All part of human nature and our natural curiosity...my point is that on many different levels our business is what we make it.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day!

Old Coot being nosey?
I think its just him... maybe it just comes with age too. Haha..
What he [ OC ] commented is quite deep. Took me quite some time to understand what he is talking. [ please pardon me, my standard of English is not very good ]

I agree Taking care of scamp is your responsibility but that responsibility would not be met without an "intention" on your part to meet it. Many people have responsibilities that are never met because they never generate the intention(goal) to do so. It still comes down to having a goal, aim, intention however you want to phrase it.
It is just as easy to sit back and do nothing. As a matter of fact when you look at the definition of inertia it's easier to do nothing. You must make a decisi

Hmmmm?
You could have a point, Garnet, maybe I'm a nosey old coot? (Careful that limb does not snap off underneath you! LOL)
"Chill. Let's just be objective in our comments and try not bring our emotions into the equations. :)" - OK James I will try very hard not to be emotional when discussing something about which I care or have strong opinions. What this will achieve, I have no idea - probably defeat my attempts to be precise and destroy all semblance of erudition.

OC...I knew it!...LOL..Now I'm gonna go a little further out on a limb here, but could be that it does not work because You are making it your business?
P.S. I've been told to mind my own business all my life! LMAO!!

Hi Garnet,
Yes, thats right!! Being passionate about what you do makes THAT difference from just having a goal and want to make the goal happen.
Hi Joseph,
Thanks for adding me. And thanks for your compliment. :)
Hi Old Coot,
Chill. Let's just be objective in our comments and try not bring our emotions into the equations. :)
Hi ppl_cheryl63,
Yes, goals and aims are our direction in our life. Without those, we will be walking aimlessly in life...

Without a goal(desire to achieve a result) we would be inert lumps
If you did not have the "goal" of feeding Scamp, Scamp would starve. If you did not have the goal of interacting others you would never communicate. Everything action we make is the direct result of a goal, large, small or routine; they are still goals.

Hi, Garnet,

Hi, Cheryl,
Nothing gets done without a goal?
One of these days you and I will find something to agree about.
Millions of things get done millions of people every single day because the circumstances are right - not because there is a goal.
A few days ago I suffered a visit from a dog behaviourist because Scamp has shown signs of aggression a few times over the past year. Her goal was to convince me that a dog I have lived with for ten years was exactly the same as every other 'avera

lol...Well I happen to know it'll pay off in the long run, maybe we define the word business slightly different too....My BUSINESS is whatever I MAKE MY BUSINESS!
Hasn't anyone ever told you to Mind Your Own Business before? LOL
Sorry, just too dang busy goofing around and having Fun right now, Merry Christmas!

Hi, Garnet,
So, you are passionate about helping people and your business is one of the tools you use to perform. From many of the responses of yours that I have read, I do not believe that you are passionate about your business and that your argument is purely semantic.
You strike me as someone who would help - whether your business suffered or not as a result.

Goal setting is of utmost importance. Nothing gets done without a goal, whether it is acknowledged or not. Once you have set that goal you must take the action to make it happen.
Yes you must be surrounded by those who share your vision rather than those who want you to share their poverty. This quotes sums it up perfectly, "Never accept advice from anyone more screwed up than you are!" John Addison.

Old Coot definitions
Goal - that pin prick at the end of a tunnel
Opportunities - the trillions of pin pricks that surround a goal.
Goal setting is another buzz phrase that the gurus have latched on to. A goal is a pair of blinkers - it prevents serendipity and stultifies adventurousness.
People I know have achieved their goals and their lives are now empty because they cannot face the whole process over again.
I have successfully exploited many opportunities and am still looking

Hi James,
I cannot STRESS how critical it is to surround yourself with like-minded people(mastermind).
Having a business that You Truely are Passionate about makes a HUGE difference too
and of course you absolutely must have some goals or directives which you continuely take consistant and all out ACTION on!
Thanks for sharing!
