The Young and The Restless - Lisa G's Entertaiment on Apsense - SOAP Opera Series ~*~ Includes Nick
The Young and The Restless
This soap opera has been on air for what seems like forever.
In my days of watching soaps, this was by far one of my favorites.
Nicki and Victor seems to have been around just as long as the soap opera itself.
I've lost track of it, but the interesting thing I've found, miss a few years, and get hooked again, from an episode or two, and catch back up quickly with the lives of the soap stars.
I know your out there. Young and Restless Fans, Please enter!

OK folks, don't mean to nit pick... but haven't we gone off the Y&R topic? I mean here you are going on about Dark Shadows (never heard of that one) while Jack may lose his senate seat and poor Victoria, while still in a coma, had to have her premature baby boy delivered by C-section... LOL
Tell me... who do you think is the father's of Victoria's baby? Brad or JT? Do you think the baby will live? What about Victoria? Is she going to wake up?

Honestly I think Emily they are drawing this Victoria thing way too long.
Who knows what is gonna happen. But I know one thing...I want Nick and Sharon back together!

Wow! You really do love Dark Shadows.
I hope it helped take your mind away from the labor pangs.

I listen to the soaps sometimes when I am working... I like the ones on CBS.. i do not actually "watch" a whole lot of tv as I am a music person. I have been listening to Y&R though about the Victoria and baby situation.
I do have to say that I was a fan of Dark Shadows.. That is a fond memory for me.. I was so addicted to it that I was watching it when I was in labor with my firstborn...LOL

Night Gallery was Rod Serling's follow-up to The Twilight Zone, airing on NBC from 1970 to 1973. I just went and looked up the info, and just seeing the picture of the host standing in front of the covered paintings spooked me..lol.. Where your scarf, Jeunelle, need it now..I'm home alone?

Of course, Salem's Lot, was the cream of the creepies, too! :) Four nights of vamps and a scary ending... Whew! Loved it! :)
Juenelle, if you wanted to be scared of babies for the rest of your life, the 70's B movie, IT'S ALIVE, did it for me.... I'm very sure that it's responsible for the sale of many, many, many pregnancy prevention devices! :)

Poor thing,..lol...Juenelle, thats horrible. I know that kind of feeling well.
I used to get spooked after watching that darn show, Night Gallery..ha..ha.
One in paticular, when the girl went inside the picture frame.
No way..I would not watch those things now. I will be asking my 12 year old to stand outside the bathroom door and wait till I'm done...I don't think that would work..lol. I'm a big chicken now..lol.

Ya know, Dark Shadows was a lot creeper than most people give it credit for... certain episodes were filmed in Black and White, and the fuzzness of TV screens back then made it seem scarier... I read lotsa Horror novels back then, and after reading Dracula and seeing Dark Shadow... Believe me it was easy to have nightmares and hallucinations1 :)

Wow, I'm hurt to hear that some of you think the Young and Restless is a grandma show! I am by no means a tv addict - in fact I watch very little tv (especially since the internet LOL), but I started watching Y&R when I was 18 years old - I'm now 45. I have missed a few months here and there over the years, but not many! When I was working full time, I'd record for the week and spend Saturdays watching.
Used to watch Another World, but not for an extended period. Watched Days periodical

Wow, cool Jen. I think that's really neat stuff, that your Dad "went with" Deidra Hall.
Now, only her hairdresser and members of Apsense know she is not a true born blond.
Jeff, I love your explanation of where the soaps roots came from..ha..ha.
Thanks goodess for the revoution of TV, huh? lol

Lisa, The Soap Opera was created wayyyyyyyy back in the day-- I think Shakpeare was the first to put them on a stage. The only problem was that soap itself, hadn't yet become a popular product amongst the people... This fact ,plus the smells of the actors themselves in their heavy garb, would be enough to bring folks to tears, even if the Play In Question was a comedy... Some smart dude, probably saw an opportunity in all this, a way to make Women cry during the daytime hours, but needed to kee

Juenelle, what a cool grandma. Love it! I'm going to try the ole "You took My Remote Control" with my family..ha..ha. Nice way to gain control and dominance back over the boob tube.
Garnet...lol...think we do have a bit of soap box going on at Apsense once and awhile..lol, it's okay...keeps things from getting boring..
Hi meshemarie,
Yes..it is amazing how long some of the soap opera stars careers have been, and how they look pretty much the same.

Hey the young and the restless was not my cup of tea.
That was my grandma show I mean she would take the
phones of the hook so there would be no interruptions. I
just can imagine what it was like then. But today that is
all my mother watches and my baby sister. I cant
really get off into it like I use to when it was All my children.
I would miss school or go late so I could watch it.
My favorite soap as a child was All my children you know
with Ted, Erika, and the rest you know who I am talk
