How To Set Your Goals
One of the key attributes of any successful individual is the ability to set goals whether it is for their business or their personal life.
When you are setting goals it is important that you use a structure for those goals one I use for setting my goals is the SMART principle now what I mean by that is:
S – Specific, it should specify your desired future results it should be easy to understand should use action verbs such as (provide solve do) and it should define the goal by setting the who, what, how, when and why.
M – Measurable, Describe how each goal (result) is going to be measured is he goal quantitative can it be measured by figures, what measures will define success, how will I track those measures?
A – Achievable is the goal achievable have you have you got the resources such as knowledge time and financial resources available if not do you know where and when to get them?
R – Relevant is goal in line with the desires of you your family will achieving that goal help you towards your overall goals whether business or personal.
T – Time Framed what is the specific time frame for achieving this goal (the start and end dates) Is it achievable within this time frame, have you taken into account other factors such as other peoples involvement. Have you scheduled review periods to monitor progress?
You should set goals over short medium and long term and check the relevancy of how each goal fits into the overall vision of what you want to achieve.
I type up my goals then print them off and place them where I can see them everyday in my case it is beside my computer desk. I also printed off a little prompter which just says
What Have I Done Towards Achieving My Goals Today? Remember;
Those Who Fail To Plan are Planning To Fail
Happy Goal Setting

One of the reasons people avoid goals is they have no idea of how to go about setting and achieving them. More good advice on goal setting. I also addressed the goal issue, You can find it here http://www.apsense.com/subject/22591.html.
