Control The Time Bandits

One of the hardest parts of online marketing is maintaining your focus on the tasks in hand, there are so many distractions/excuses for not doing what you know you should be doing.

Stop and think how many time a day do you go and check your email?

How often do you answer the phone?

How often do you pop into your favourite forum?

How often do you go into your favourite social/business marketing network?

The list goes on and on!

The one vital ingredient to being successful is to take control of your time. A way to do this is to keep a TO DO list that is always accessible to you.

Take some time at the end of everyday and prioritise your tasks for the following day

Always determine which task is necessary or not necessary in achieving your goals and which activities are helping you to achieve those objectives.

Each and everyone of us has a peek time and a time when we slow down, these are our natural cycles. We should be able to tell when to do the difficult tasks (when we are the sharpest.)

Learning to say "No". You actually see this advice often. Heed it even if it involves saying the word to family or friends.

Pat yourself at the back or just reward yourself in any manner for an effective time management result.

Try and get the cooperation from people around you who are actually benefiting from your efforts of time management.

Don't procrastinate. Attend to necessary things immediately.

Have a positive attitude and set yourself up for success. But be realistic in your approach in achieving your goals.

Have a record or journal of all your activities. This will help you get things in their proper perspective.

One final note it is easy to get so involved in our online activities that we ignore those that are important to us! So dont forget to set aside some time to spend with your loved ones otherwise you may wake up one day and find that they are no longer there!

Wishing you every success

Dave
