Use plain words that your recipients may be able to understand. You are in court to figure out and illuminate for your recipients.I would say speak with not proper but natural accent. Try to balance your speed with the pace at which your recipients are speaking.

Engage your audience.

 Be expressive; use gestures. Be lively to draw recipient’s attention to what you are saying. Otherwise your recipients could be too lost in thoughts of defending themselves to listen to what you are saying.
