I have been writing for Associated Content since January 2007.  AC accepts submissions of articles on almost any subject and publishes them on their own website.  This is an excellent way to get your work published and create an online portfolio where potential employers or customers can see your style of writing.

You can offer your articles to AC for up-front payment or non-payment, and for exclusive or non-exclusive use.  Articles offered for non-payment are published almost immediately (once you have had three articles previously published) while articles offered for payment go through a review process which usually takes about a week.

Articles offered for exclusive use become the property of AC.  Non-exclusive use means that you still own the copyright, and can still publish the article elsewhere if you wish.

Once AC has made an offer for your article, you can either accept or decline their offer.  Payment for offers accepted usually shows up in your Paypal account in the next day or two.

Why offer an article for non-payment, you ask?  You can still earn a performance bonus on articles offered for non-payment, based on your number of page views.  A breaking news story will be published and read right away, and if you waited a week to get the item reviewed it would be old news by then.  The page views you receive from a timely article can pay off well in bonus.

AC also functions as a type of social network.  You can read articles of other Content Producers, and leave comments which link back to your content page.   Add friends and family members to your subscribers list and they will receive an automatic email from AC each time you are published.  The more readers you have, the higher your performance bonus!

I have really enjoyed writing for AC.  I usually write about things I am interested in:  dogs (lots of dog articles!), health issues and alternative therapies, gardening, and relationships.  I am a perpetual student, I have always loved learning things, and doing research to round out my articles has given me a lot of new information to stick in my brain.  Hopefully, I am educating others as well!
