Votes are in!
A majority in the senate
Determined democrats win?
A mess! We call the world
We can only hope and pray
Our votes now produce positive results
Studiously reminding those who lead
Of their responsibility
To work painstakingly for change
Our country so badly needs
Attentive to social discussions
Implementing workable solutions
That work for us!
Not just them, as usual
Stop all that stinking thinking!
And think like patriots instead
Be acidulously ready to defend
The rights of those unable
Doggedly protect our environment
Against pertinacious special interests
Work hard! Give it all you got
Otherwise, believe me! You’ll just want to die
Before having to live with the rest of us
In this social hell
You built, and think is swell
As long as you’re safely inside protected
Well now!
Pretend we’re all in there with you
After crushing those walls meant to defend you
I say to all politicians, from now on
Lets start doing the right thing
Because it’s the right thing to do!
Diligence and hard work is what it’ll take
Creating a world better than it’s been
A place that’s better, from now on!
