Business Round Table

Pictures really ARE worth a thousand words...

Some people are so worried about copy that they don't take into full consideration that their pictures can send as much of a wrong impression as their words. I've clicked on a number of campaigns to be brought to splash pages with pictures like this one:

If you don't know, please make note now. THIS IS DRUG MONEY! If you use this picture on your splash page, it will bring with it every negative feeling that comes with knowing this is drug money. Putting it on a splash page is not going to say, "You can make all this cash! WOW!" It's going to say, "My business opportunity may be just as untrustworthy as the means that brought all this money together." It's in bad taste.

Next time you're searching the web for images to put on your website, try to choose from the ones that were obviously setup by a professional photographer like at paying photo sites or royalty free photo sites.

Good topic, some people really need to learn that "any attention is good attention" is simply not true. I see many things that grab my attention and many are not good other than as what not to do

Wonderful example of how ethics and morals go out the window. Using that photo is not different than signing up for some program going to pay you thousands for basically doing nothing. You are doing something. Helping them launder money gained through criminal activity.

And Meghan I will guarantee that mixed in with that drug money is money stained by blood too. Drug dealing and arms running often go hand in hand.

I really like following your posts Meghan, your choice of topics is always "on the money". (no pun intended)
I have also noticed the inappropiate use of certain pictures for advertising. A funny one i saw the other day was a picture of a fishing lure with a 1 dollar note stuck to the hook, and a catchy heading "Fishing for money", which can have alot of meanings.
Good post once again Meghan.

@AffiliateMoney I think the "any attention is good attention" theory only works for movie and music stars.
@PplCheryl So true!
@Dawie LOL Thanks Dawie.

Somebody actually used that picture in a splash page ? We've seen images like that in so many movies about drugs, that's what I saw even before reading Meghan's comment. :)

Yep! I didn't know if I should be appalled or laugh. And it's not just this picture. There are others of other piles of drug money too.
