Great New APSense tools-Stop Misusing/Abusing them

All these new tools and instead of appreciating them I see them being constantly abused and misused.  Especially the Ask Section.
Okay this is a reminder.  Success is not handed to you on a silver platter.  It does not come easy it takes work and sacrifice and yes some gumption and ambition.  As I look around APSense I see destined failures all over the place. And that is truly sad.  But for those who want to succeed let me point out a few things to avoid, You will see these very things demonstrated daily on Ask APsense.  Just look around and decide that you are not going to follow the failure trend.
Being in business means that you are willing to do what it takes to succeed.  You are not doing what it takes to succeed if you are constantly asking the same questions over and over again.  If Joe Schmoe  asked the question yesterday, and Joe Blow asked it the day before and Jane Doe asked previous to that don't turn around and ask it today.  The answer will not magically change.
You are not doing what it takes to succeed if you do not use the provided tools.  You see if you used the tools, namely the search function you would already have your answer since Joe, Joe and Jane already asked your question.  Now guess what this saves valuable time.  It saves time for those who would answer and it also saves time for you since you already have the answer instead of waiting for someone to come along and answer.
Take your business seriously and understand that others do the same.  There are many people here on APSense who will bend over backwards to help others.  They are not paid or compensated, they are doing it out of the goodness of their heart.  Understand that and appreciate that someone helping you is going out of their way for you.  They are not required to do so, drop the sense of entitlement and don't take it for granted.  Sooner or later the most helpful will get tired of being treated like the company answer person and then they will not help you at all.
Last but definitely not least Stop acting like the rules are there for everyone except you.  If the rules are no advertising don't advertise period.  Answering questions with your referral links is advertising.
Recently we have been gifted with some really wonderful tools.  Its just too bad that they are being misused and abused

Hi Cheryl,

What a great article, i just hope that it reaches the right target audience.

Seems like all of our efforts in trying to help the people in, Ask Apsense is sometimes not appreciated.
I daily make a pass through there, and it becomes very discouraging seeing the same old questions being posted over and over and over.
The favourite being, "How do i make money here".
Seems that we are going to answer that same old question for years to come.

I was thinking the other day, maybe we must get some people together, put our knowledge and expertise together and create a training manual that Wincer can add to the site.
Just a thought, or we must make some wright ups, that he can add to the FAQ section.
Because by answering some of these repetitive questions honestly, i see people give us a thumbs down.

I am glad i joined this group, seems you have some realy top topics being discussed here.

Thanks for this one, Excellent job.

This was spurred by a comment I received and it made me realize that there is a sense of entitlement going on in Ask. None of the admins here or at 2.0 are compensated for the time we help out on the site. And I'm going to assume you have not received a big fat check for the time you spend answering questions either. Yet there is this vibe that we are supposed to cater to other members.

Perhaps if we can get it through a few heads that we are going out of our way, everyone that takes a moment to answer a question is putting themselves out going out of their way to help other members, maybe just maybe it will sink in that no one is required to answer their questions. In all honesty they can get their questions answered like I did when I first signed up by pushing those little buttons that say search or clicking that link that says FAQ. The answers to everything they need to know is on this site somewhere but the Ask Section seems to be promoting pure laziness!

Love your post!!!!!
I have people ask me how I got all My Honor Points.
I have to chuckle..
They must think there is a place to go BUY them or GET them handed out to.

I EARNED them, everyone of them. No one gave them to me.
Just as no one gave you the ones that you have.

I take the time to answer these PM's and I try to guide them as best I can. I will follow up and see if they did what I suggested some do.
Most Don't......I love it when they listen but i can only guess that the reason they didn't do as I suggested was because it was to much like WORK!!

Keep up the great posts Cheryl,
I love to follow along behind you.

Sometimes I wonder about people. you and I are old school Cindy. We were here when you either clicked on those links or asked your sponsor or learned by trial and error. No one handed us answers on a silver platter and we didn't expect them to.

Now I look day in and day out. People keep repeating the same silly questions, often when it has just been answered instead of clicking the question already asked and answered. It's a misuse of the resource not to mention a waste of everyone's time.

I will bend over backward to help someone who wants to learn and is willing to work. But members need to understand while I an others may be willing to do so, we are not required to do so. This idea that "I'm entitled to...." needs to stop.

I so agree! I love showing people how to do things, but they have to be willing to help themselves. This business is work! Too many who don't learn to work and build their business right, are making it harder for everyone!

In the team some friends and I started, we add a little more stress on the ethics of internet marketing. Ethics and honor just go together. I think too many are just jumping in and spamming all over!

They get signups, get paid, and never help a single one of the people they have signed up!

Earn honor points by communicating and contributing, don't just push your "get rich quick" stuff!!
