Expanding you presence continued.

Article writing

This is another method of expanding your presence that can do you a great deal of good providing it is done correctly.

The first thing to do is decide what subject you are going to write about, preferably one that you know and have some experience with. The better you know the subject the easier it will be to write about it. When I first started writing I found myself looking at a blank screen, wondering what I was going to say. It took me a long time to even hit the first key. Then I would type in a sentence, or two, read it and think "No" and delete it again.

Then I figured out, well I can talk to people about it so why can't I write about it? It’s the same thing just a different method of presentation. Once I had figured that out, although still not easy, at least I got started. So now, I don't try to put things in fancy writing terms. I write things as I would say them in a general conversation. Once I have it down then I can re-read and move things around to get the flow right.
So if you were to ask me what’s my secret, I would have to say be yourself. Write as you would tell someone else if you were face to face with them.

Now if all else fails then there is still hope, so don't give up yet.
There is an abundance of, what are referred to as Private Label Rights (PLR), articles available covering a wide variety of subjects to be found on the Internet. Blatant plug here, (lol), we have a large selection of PLR articles available to members at eResourceHeaven.

PLR means that anyone can take and use these articles and claim them as their own work. However many fall into the trap of just publishing "as is", rather than doing at least some rewriting to give them a personal touch. Naturally by publishing them exactly as you received them you are going to hit the search engine problem of duplicate content again.

So to keep the search engines happy you really do need to read a PLR article and then do a rewrite and put it in your own words.

What to do with the article once you have it ready.

Once you have an article ready you then create yourself an "about the author" paragraph
As an example

Bill Brown aka Bjantiques is active in the services side of Internet marketing and is the co owner of the membership site eResourceHeaven, and also the pixel advertising site http://www.prizes4pixels.com , and the hosting company LCW at http://www.lowcost-webspace.com. He is also an active participant at the Social networking site http://www.apsense.com/invite/bjantiques.

Once you have everything ready there are a number of site that you can then go to and get it published, for example http://www.goarticles.com, http://www.prweb.com and there are dozens more you can find by searching for Article directories on Google.

By publishing articles on these web sites you will not only be found by the search engines, but hopefully, other people looking for good content for their own web sites will download your articles. This means that the search engines will see your url in your byline as a one way link, and people browsing these sites will read your article and most likely visit your site as they will be viewing you as an expert thus building more trust in you and your products.
The longer the articles remain on the article sites, the more, hopefully, your articles will be picked up by other people and the more your presence will grow virally.

Having Your own Domain name and Web site.

In my opinion having your own domain Name and web site is also absolutely vital.
As this subject is extensively covered in the free e-book "Newbies Guide to Profiting Online" which was written by my partner and myself I am not going to go into detail. In the e-book the pros and cons of using free and paid hosting are laid out clearly as is also the subject of Domain name purchasing.

One thing I will emphasize is that if you do get a domain name (which you should) make sure you purchase it directly from a registrar yourself so that if you decide to move from one host to another then you can simply change where the name servers point to. Packages of hosting that include domain names can mean that if you leave that particular host for any reason you lose the domain name. It is a buyer beware situation. Please do read our e-book it costs you nothing and could save you a lot of misery and frustration where hosting and domain names are concerned.

You can get a totally free copy (you do not have to give any information) of the e-book if you have not already done so by clicking here Get your copy of "Newbies Guide to Profiting Online" now

Hi Lisa

I seem to have missed this post of yours.

In my opinion everyone needs their own website.
This is one of the reasons my business partner and I run Lowcost-webspace and offer hosting at a price everyone can afford.

It is a small investment when you consider the extra credibility it gives you to have your own site and your own domain name, and creating your own site is not that difficult any more.

Hi Lisa,

Personally I write my articles straight out of my head based on the knowledge I have accumulated over the years.

If I pick a subject and say right I am going to write about it then I find it difficult.
What i do is note down thigs I want to write about and then keep the list handy. and look it over regularly.

I might not get any inspiration for a few days, but then suddenly one item on the list will trigger something and It then just flows without me having to think about it.

So the main points I think are
Dont force it.
keep an idea list.
When it hits you write it, even if you dont use it right away. that way you have it for when you do want to use it.
