Odd Fact

My sister just sent me this one, and thought I'd share it with you:

There has been a monthly average of 160,000 troops in the
Iraq theater of operations during the last 22 months and a
total of 2,112 deaths. That gives a firearm death rate of 60
per 100,000 soldiers.

The firearm death rate in Washington D.C. is 80.6 per
100,000 persons forthe same period.

That means that you are about 25% more likely to be shot
and killed in the U.S. Capital than you are in Iraq.

Conclusion: Maybe it's time the U.S. pull out of Washington?

Dateline News-- November 22nd, 2008 USA Whatta World Reports:

Australian Prime Minister Jean DAndrea deployed more than 30,000 peacekeeping
troops to the U.S. Monday, pledging full support to the troubled North American
nation as it struggles to establish democracy.

"We must do all we can to support free elections in America and allow
democracy to gain a foothold there," DAndrea said. "The U.S. is a major player
in the Western Hemisphere and its continued stability is vital to world interests in that region."

DAndrea urged John McCain, the U.S. opposition-party leader who is refusing to
recognize the nation's Nov. 7 election results, to "Let the democratic process
take its course."

"Mr. McCain needs to acknowledge the will of the people and
concede that he has lost this election," Ms. DAndrea said.

"Until America's political figures learn to respect the institutions that have been put in place,
the nation will never be a true democracy."

British, Canadian and Australian forces have been stationed throughout the U.S., with an emphasis on certain trouble zones. Among them are Oregon, Florida, and eastern Illinois, where McCain set up headquarters in Obama territory.

An additional 10,000 troops are expected to arrive in the capital city of Washington, D.C. by Friday.

Though the Coalition Of Actually Civilised Countries has pledged to work with U.S. leaders, they did not rule out the possibility of economic sanctions if the crisis is not resolved soon.

"For democracy to take root and flourish, it must be planted in the rich soil of
liberty. And the cornerstone of liberty is elections free of tampering or
corruption," Ms. DAndrea said. "Should America prove itself incapable of learning
this lesson on its own, the international community may be forced to take
stronger measures."

Jeff, You are just too much :-), Better send some of those troops down here to Texas after all this is the Ancestral home of the Bushites, and their leaders. They need to be flushed out of hiding LOL!

Newsflash:
Prime Minister D'Andrea resigns, stating she is unable to justify sending further
troops to the US, as this would almost certainly result in bloodshed, with which she
cannot concur.

Well known McCain support McDonald, the former Deputy Leader will become
Australia's new Prime Minister. He states "Whatever needs to be done to
restore peace and democrocy, and the capitalistic lifestyle to the US, will
be done!"

Happy Holiday, Jean! :)

I authoritative news from my Inside Aussie Gov't Resources, that in principal:

The State refuses to accept your resignation terms, and, " Strongly guarantees the safety of all peacekeeping forces while they are active in the States... "

"Our Intelligence findings support this position firmly, by noting that most of the USA's oppositional resistance forces will mainly be fast asleep and probably incoherant from too much turkey, stuffing and strong drink (Plus other recreational substances) to even recogise who or what COACC peacekeeping forces are, from November 22nd until February 1st of 2009, at the very least!

By then our aims will surely be achieved,or we will simply bring in Irish forces to annoy McCain into compliance! :)

Statistics - again - make them say anything you want.

Since America invaded and destroyed the Iraqi nation, there have been (officially) 17,739 American troop deaths.

For the 65 months of the occupation, this represents a little under 272 deaths per month (3.4 times the Washington death rate from balistic weapons in the last 22 months).

I find it very strange that this little fact took no account of the tens of thousands of uncounted Iraqis who have been killed.

Odd that!

After all, in Washington it is Americans killing Americans (nobody has analysed the slaughtered by nationality). Maybe because Iraq is 'foreign' - the American psyche can't get too worked up about Iraqi women and children suffering horrendous deaths as a result of American imperialism and greed for oil.

Now THAT is an odd fact!

I wish Australia well in her attempts to democratise America although 'flogging a dead horse' comes to mind!

Unless some serious changes are made in our (USA) government, the peacekeeping forces in the US might not be so far fetched. The current admistration has done more to make the US a dictatorship than any other administration before it.

Old Coot, I agree with you on the stistics point. The "Odd Fact" should be the untold suffering and the unchecked greed that has occured as a result of the unjustified war that Bush started based upon cherry picked "intelligence" supported his proganda machine.
