Lee is this weeks business expert.  This will probably be a bit different since Lee's background is in off-line business.  I hope he will share some of what he shared with me behind the scenes.  He's got some great life lessons we can all learn from, but I will leave it up to him.  Congratulations Lee!

Thanks Cheryl

I heard a quote one time that said” a wise person will learn from his mistakes and a fool won’t learn any other way”.
Well, if I learn from all my mistakes I should be a genius by now.
As I told Cheryl, I’m more of an expert on what NOT to do.

I love network marketing.
It allows me to help others and myself at the same time.
I understand that some of you dislike network marketing and I would love to discuss the pros and cons.
I have looked at hundreds if not thousands of businesses and their compensation plans.
Most people don’t pay any attention to the pay plans (they find them boring) but to me that is one of the things that determines how good a company is and whether I would choose to be a representative or just a customer.

Congrats Lee! Knowing what not to do is equally important, I'm sure!

Thanks Garnet

My Dad was always telling me to do something, even if it’s wrong.
I’ve been guilty of waiting until things were perfect to take action.
I’m the “measure twice, cut once” type person.

Lee

I agree 100% checking the compensation plan makes a world of sense

Well Lee, I think you are probably going to be one of our more educational experts. As Garnet said knowing what not to do is just as important as knowing what to do!

What are the similarities between working offline and working online?

I too have worked offline for several years running my own business.

Please explain in further detail Exactly what is Network Marketing? How should one go about doing it?

Sorry for being so broad based here. Leaves the door wide open kinda

Hi Wendy

I’m no expert at Internet marketing.
As far as network marketing is concerned, it’s relationship marketing on or offline.
Most of the people in my networking businesses I put there by talking to them face to face.
In my roofing business, I didn’t have to market myself.
Sometimes my list was a year long.
People would tell me to put them on the list without knowing how much I was going to charge.
That’s the power of “word of mouth advertising”.
Network marketing is the same except you get paid for it.

If you are looking for a job the first thing you want to do is to talk to your network of friends and they will watch for you.
If you are looking for a good used car tell your friend you are looking.
I have gotten some good deals that way.

I hear all the time that money is in the list.
I don’t have a list.
I just make friends.
Some might join one of my businesses but if they don’t that all right.
I can’t lose because I have friends.

Let my know if I need to make anything more clear.

You made that very clear. I understood completely about the offline contracting business. My hubby does that (roofing included) He is booked till the snow flies again and then some.

My perception is though It is much harder on line to get the word out.

With all the millions of bodies on line and everyone wanting to make some sort of profit, well it is hard to connect with all them

Guess I am just figure out to reach more boides

Oh I mean people LOL

I guess it all comes down to learning different venues to get the words out

You’re right Wendy.
For me it is much harder online than offline.
The people I know personally trust me and it is easier to ask someone you know to try something.
But the rejection hurts worse also.

There is a town of about 50,000 people 20 miles from me.
When I go to town I run into people I know and people that I have seen their face before even though I don’t know them.
I have found the same thing on the Internet.
Everywhere I go I see many of the same faces.
