A question about the Ichannels

by Susan coils Web Design & Marketing Services for Small Business
Susan coils Senior   Web Design & Marketing...
Can I ask please, now that we have the Ichannels, how are we supposed to let people know about them? Do we post a blog, a discussion, does something show up that shows we are an Ichannel publisher?

I've just created one and was wondering how to get the word out, because presumably if we don't let people know, then the chances of anyone subscribing are pretty slim to say the least.

I haven't noticed anything about anyone advertising their Ichannel, so do we just have to search for them?

thanks

Hi San,

I should think you could post a blog telling what your iChannel is about and giving the link so members can subscribe if they want to.

You can also include it in any newsletters you send out and even if the recipients are not members of APSense they can still use the APSense Express to subscribe to iChannels.

Hi San,

I have set up 2 iChannels and did a number of things to tell people.

1. I sent out a broadcast message giving the details.
2. I added them to my ABC
3. I made a blog entry.
4. I searched for groups that have topics that relate to my iChannels and posted to them.

I hope this helps.

Hi Chris,

Good information, just be sure that the groups you post in allow advertising.

Thanks folks. Maybe it would be a good idea for Apsense to put a little icon next to our pics to show we are ichannel publishers. Folks could click on them to see what they are and that would perhaps increase sign ups as it would be easy to do.
Well have posted a blog, will get it on my business centre, as well as some outside sources.
And am also off to suggest the icon link thingy.

Ok
another question about the ichannels. What is the API thing. And does it need to be set up before the ichannel works?
How do we set it up?

Hi San,

I still need infor on the API.

Need to talk to Wincer to find our more about it.
The iChannels work without it.

Can someone tell me if the reporting link is working ok for the ichannels. I've had a couple of people thanking me for the ichannel on motivational quotes and I've used it myself to check out the daily quote, but the report says no clicks at all.

Is this just mine? Does anyone else have any problems with their ichannel reports?

What I did was go through each tab to see what they were about. I looked at what others were doing and how they started by reading posts. Tho I don't always comment, just reading gives you a good idea of the "How To". When I email any of my friends and family,I include all my links, and asked them to forward them to all their friends, and to their friends and so forth. I have built a great list of responce just from that alone.
