If you don't have a Why then how do you know where to go. The why's in life is what makes us all work harder, without the whys then there really is no motivation to do it.....................Once you understand your whys then you will get to where you want to go in life.................whys are like goals in life......we all do things for our own personal reasons........

I am grateful that everyone appreciated this. I did it in a hurry, just before I retired for the evening. i would like to say how grateful I am to be working with such a great group of people! Each member was invited to join the group based on the quality and potential of their work, and the fact I felt they were not getting the recognition they deserved.
We are changing all that now! Group HP are up to 1583, and hits are at 443. All this increases our profile, not only at Apsense, but worldwide! True it's not much right now, but we are going the right direction!! D

I think that is a good idea Garnet, and it would be better for you to do it than me, I don't like to self-promote. I think it sends the wrong impression. Would love to have you do this! D

Thanks for the show of support Eric and D, know how you feel about the self promote thing too, can be a bit of a predicament though with the nessesity to promote or brand one's self these days. Anyways, just sitting here pondering the direction to go with the promo's, I plan to promote by blogging to the variuos networks I am involved with, what I need to determine is the "defined" direction of the group and then put a little spin on it. If I could get some feedback from the group, I would really appreciate it and feel it would only make it just that much more effective in more than one way.

I have been thinking about this for a couple of days now... and i think this is a good angle to use to promote the group.

We need to attract "Quality Writers/Authors" to the group and those that understand the philosophy behind quotes such as these would be ideal candidates.

We could look at joining other forums and social networks that promote "Quality Content" and spread the word, rather than simply promoting it "in-house". I guess the problem would be in the follow through from the "Sign-up to APSense" page to the "QCW Group..." We should investigate that...

We could use our favourite quote/s on our ABC pages and hyperlink them to this Group.

I was looking at Davids site (ABC) the other day and i like how he has this group as one of his featured products. This is a great idea, since the Featured products also appear on other pages throughout the site (Under the tab "Business Centres")...

The key, is to use the right promotional strategy in the right Market place... this way, only those with a keen passion for writing and providing quality content will be attracted to the group.

Its a bit like using certain types of promotional material online... We often only attract a niche that perhaps is not attracted to or recomended for our product/s.

Using quotes in the right Market would be a great way to attract Quality Content Writers to the Group.

Hope that helps a little towards achieving a desired outcome...

Something I have tried yesterday, and today, is a group called wordpress.com They have a neat feature that lets you comment on a blog, and when you comment, you get to enter a name, URL, and your comment.
Now, there are several ways to do this, you could send the url to your favorite biz op, but most of the people there seem to be writers. So if you send them to a biz op, they are may not be interested. On the other hand, if you send them the link to a biz blog you have written about QCWG, they MAY see an opportunity to get their writing in front of more readers!
This is solving a problem for them, the best kind of marketing there is!

PLUS, if they are interested in contributing at Apsense, they will have to join in YOUR network! Then everything they do will help YOU!

SO... Go to your personal blogs, write a good review about QCWG, and copy down the url of the article once you have it finished.
Then, when you find a blog at wordpress you like, just enter the url in the appropriate space when you leave a comment. Just leave a comment something like: "great writing!" or anything else that comes to mind, BUT, Do Not say anything about your link, Apsense, or the group. Trust me on this, these people are very adverse to being marketed to, and you will defeat your purpose. However, they are just like us, they Love to DISCOVER something new!

Does this work?
Yesterday I commented on 5 articles there, and this morning I had 3 new members in my network!

As to the defined direction Garnet, I believe we are developing a group of writers helping writers. Marketers helping Marketers. People Helping People. Whichever suits the area you are promoting in. D

Something I failed to address with that last comment, is getting them from signup to QCWG. Sorry Eric. when they read your blog, they link in through your page. If they want to post or anything else, they will be prompted to sign in, or create a new account. The system will automatically place them in your network. Watch your network for new members, and send them a contact request. Then you can invite them, and/or they will apply for membership to the group.

one more thing D, where you pointing them to?

Garnet..... Go to your personal blogs, write a good review about QCWG, and copy down the url of >>>>>the article you have written<<<< once you have it finished.
When you finish the article and click submit, when it comes up in the 'public' form we all see, your browser bar should have the article url. Like the url of this blog is: http://www.apsense.com/subject/21886.html

However, they are just like us, they Love to DISCOVER something new!

does this help?

Hey David,

Yep, the invitation part after someone joins the network is easy enough... i just thought there might be a follow through BACK to the initial page (this group) after a member finishes the sign-up process... some sites do that... (like if you go to view a forum topic, then have to login to reply.... you are automatically redirected back to the same thread you were viewing before logging in...

I hope that makes sense...

Eric.

Yeah, Eric, I did it that way, they applied for the group directly, but if you guys do it that way, they will go into MY network, and that wouldn't be right. MKWeb has volunteered to work on some things for the group, but this is the best I can think of right now. Thanks everybody for the help! D
