Wincer just added a cool new feature!
"Signature Files are an absolutely vital way of promoting your web site".
What is a signature file or sig file:
A short block of text at the end of a message identifying the sender and providing additional information about them.
Sig files allow you to promote your site indirectly, by simply going about your business. Signatures are there to work along side all of your genuine postings...whatever form these postings take: that would be your comments here at Apsense.
The fact is that signature files are a non-aggressive form of site promotion. It plays the subtle role in your interaction with others on the internet.
How do you set up your sig file:
Click on your my account tab at the top
Click on update Profile (second row second tab)
And Scroll down to the Signature (max 100 Chars)
Now you get to add your signature file that will appear under every post you make here at Apsense.
example:
your name
[u.rl=http://your business.com] your business name [/url]
Fast | Easy | Free
Warning:
If You have a sig. file that is too long or too BIG the subtlety goes out the window and now you are just plain spamming again!!
Very Cool
Thanks Wincer.

Thought I better post and show you just how a sig file looks (It is a great time saver not to have to type your name) Aug 18th 2007 13:14 |

Hi Val Yes this is a great feature and will make life easier. We still have to remember that in this group (the main APSense group) that although we are now allowed the signature file, the no advertising and posting of urls in the topic or comment body rules still apply. The management will be making a clarification post as soon as possible on this. Aug 18th 2007 13:18 |

With all these new improvements, we're going to end up having members of all the other social networks moving into APSense. Many kudos to APSense and it's responsiveness and caring for it's members. Aug 18th 2007 14:10 |

I added my name and url the other day like a signature file and was told it was not allowed,Has this changed now? Pattie Aug 18th 2007 22:19 |

Hi Pattie, Yes providing you set up and use the Signature in your profile. In this way a signature in this group (the main APSense Group) will now be allowed. We will be able to see if its ok because of the dashed line that denotes the Signature from your profile. Any comment that contains a url below the Dashed line will be allowed any comment with a url above the dashed line or in a comment with no dashed line will not be allowed. Aug 18th 2007 23:32 |

It's great to finally have this signature feature. Hopefully, it will cut down on the spam adverts that have plagued this wonderful site! Here's hoping my signature file looks alright ..... Aug 20th 2007 00:46 |
