Too Many Administrators

How do you control the admin feature of your groups?
I see the words "Not Accepting" in some admin areas.
I think 8 is enough.

(I did edit my post, some people took it personally; I stepped on a few toes)

If you were the Creator you can accept or deny any admin. If you are just a member you could always posts your concerns.Go with the response, and if you dont receive a response, just stay idle and participate in the groups that are active. Create your own group and control what you want and how you want it! There is really allot of options available to you, it's your choice.

Hi Selya

Like you, I try to keep a watchful eye over my own groups and participate in it, and expect my administrators to do the same. I dont not expect them to post non stop if they have nothing serious to add - but they help me keep an eye out for things that need attending to and for spam threads (as it is a NO ADS forum) and help with the planning - they have more than done their job.

And as it works - and we have had no problems so far in my Groups and the couple i administrate in. - We discuss things generally at regular intervals So - I guess we are on the right track.

What I have observed though is that some people have asked to administrate an enormous number of groups. As administrating a Group properly takes time - I dont see quite how these people can administrate so many and still get on with their own work. I have seen some people applying to administrate dozens.

I don't think this is a particularly honourable way of getting extra exposure if you then lack the time to help out properly in the Group - which I suspect is the motive in a few cases. And for the rest, they are just overloading themselves and spreading themselves too thin.

I dont think the number of posts is very relevant when an administrator is actively participating in the administration. With a good group - there is often quite a lot of work done behind the scenes.

I applied to be an administrator of one group just the other day. It is a uVme group and three members are in it right now. I added a subject to it because there seemed, to me, no area to post a comment on the group. But, out of the three members one of them is the creator of the group and they never replied back to the discussion. All three members are now administrators and it is kind of sad, I think. But, what do I know anyway. Now when I have something to say I say it. Some of the groups I joined but did not apply as an administrator. I was new and got a lot of group mailings when I first downloaded the APSense Express. So, I really did not know what I was doing. Now the groups that I joined I will go over and comment on. It just takes time and I joined so many.

When I start a group as the administrator I feel the same why that you do. I like to check it. See if there are responses to it and reply in kind back. I even had one person apply to one of my groups as an administrator. I emailed them back. I thanked them and asked them to post something that might be helpful to new people that was hard for them at first. I did not get an email saying, "Sure I will but I am busy". I have not seen a post at all. But, in fairness it was just yesterday. But, I am worried that maybe I am just doing something wrong and nobody is interested in me or my businesses. And then, I think, I have been here for three weeks now. Should I give it a little more time and meet the people that do seem active APSense? Or, should I just hang it up and move on to a different place?

Do not get me wrong. I love APSense. The technology is great. This is the only place I have been able to post all of my businesses and it looks great! I like APSenses traffic exchange and frequent it often. I have seen a great variety of businesses that I will go back and join. The people that seem active in the groups? I love their comments. They are very original and funny.

Hi Jenny,
You aren't blind the initial post has been edited. I personally haven't added any additional admins to my groups, but, I am thinking about it.
And the amount of admins just depends on how large your group is and how active your admins are. Lynn

Hi Selya,

To change the accepting admins or not go to your Group and click on Edit group.
You will see the option to switch it on or off so if you have enough then click on the no option and then save the new settings.

You can switch it on and off as you wish when you wish.

Thanks ladies & gents, you are very observant, I did not want to offend anyone else.
I only brought this up so our members can be more observant within our groups.

ApSense has created a great tool for us, but I feel the only way to make an
improvement is to clearly state the fault so we can fix it!

If you are an admin of a group/groups, that should carry a certain responsibility to
participate in those groups; adding and replying to subjects, reading the info, etc.

Hi Selya,

I totally agree with you about carrying a certain responsibility when someone requests to be added as a admin to each of my groups..I agree with everyone. I have one person that keeps on requesting to be admin and has never made one single post.

What alot of people don't realize is that we gain by posting a review as so do the owner of the group. It's the same with the Apsense TE..the more you review and post the more your business center gets to be seen. It's just like the saying..you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. There is nothing wrong with that as long as it's honest.

We all need help. I am always here..for anyone whether or not they are in my business program or not.

Your friend and partner in success

Hi Selya,
I have had the same problem, but I did as Bill told us before... and so administrators are no more accepted.
I dont want to decline one of my administrators, but the most of them are inactive in the group... so it's useless to apply.
Have a nice day.

This sounds like a good problem that I hope to have when I
start a group. (one day)
