Review on Cervical dysplasia

Cervical dysplasia is one of the most serious gynecological diseases that develop over time, leads to cervical cancer and is therefore considered a precancerous disease. And because the incidence of cervical cancer in recent years has increased by 150%, and at the age of 15-39 years it ranks first among all malignant tumors in women, special attention should be paid to the examination of the cervix in order to prevent it at the stage of dysplasia.

What factors can affect the development of dysplasia?

Infection with human papilloma virus (HPV).
The presence of frequent inflammatory diseases of the genitals, especially STIs (sexually transmitted infections).
Sexually transmitted diseases in the history.
Early onset of sexual life (especially under the age of 16).
Frequent change of sexual partners.
Smoking.
Lack of sexual hygiene.
The presence of malignant or precancerous diseases of the cervix in relatives.

What are the symptoms that can alert you to this pathology?

Unfortunately, the insidiousness of this disease is that it is asymptomatic and the clinical signs, if any, are nonspecific. They can be:
Watery or purulent discharge from the genital tract;
Extraordinary bloody discharge from the genital tract;
Contact bloody discharge (after intercourse, douches, or vaginal examinations;

What methods are used for diagnosis?

A yearly (or preferably twice a year) gynecological examination.
Microflora smears from 3 sites (cervical canal, vagina, urethra).
Cytology smears (preferably with a Pap test) once a year.
Colposcopy once a year.
STI and HPV (human papillomaviruses) examinations with every new sexual partner.
Cervical biopsy if indicated (if there is a suspicious colposcopic picture).

Cervical dysplasia has 3 stages.

The 1st is mild.

The 2nd is moderate.

The 3rd is severe.

And the greater the stage of the disease, the faster it develops. For information https://pressa.rv.ua/news/anna-kozakova-likar-ginekolog-hirurg/
