Forget about Raiding the lost ark, Indy digs up $151 Million

A little older, a little slower but still the same old Indiana Jones. It's hard to believe it's been almost 30 years since Indy first hit the big screen. The latest of the Indiana Jones films has raked in $151 mil making this the second largest memorial day opening. The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull just missed beating out Jack Sparrow and his scurvy crew by a mere $2 mil. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End did hold onto to it's record.
For all of the Indy fans.....here's the greatest action sequence Hollywood has ever filmed!

All Hail the Great House of Sinanju and the Honorable Chuin! I absolutely LOVE that series and I was disappointed that we did not get Remo's "I'm about to kick your ____ speech. "I am created Shiva, The Destroyer, the dead night tiger made whole. What is this DOGMEAT that stands before me!" BTW The honorable master Chuin says your left elbow was bent on that last keystroke! LOL! May 27th 2008 12:22 |

I read the Destroyer paperbacks when I was a kid-- They were really cheap then, at about 25 cents for used ones... I used to read them until they fell apart but I wish I had kept a few in good condition-- Their value has gone up! :) The writing was remarkably good for a "pulp" fiction series! :) May 27th 2008 13:31 |

They were amazing and the development of the characters and how the relationships grew, the absolute rip-off of what was happening in our world. Although they never put a name to any president you always knew exactly which one they were talking about. I really wish they had done a better job on the movie though. Joel Grey was just not convincing as a wrinkled and wizened little Korean who had seen the century mark many moons ago! May 27th 2008 14:28 |

I do have to commend the creators of the movie for one brilliant piece of casting though and that was Wilford Brimley as Smith. He fit the idea I have in my head after years of reading the series. Fred Ward was just too "bulky" Remo is on the slim side side and I always pictured Chin looking more like one of the old "teachers" from the old 1970's kung-fu films. By the way thanks for the links, I do spend a little time now and then in the company of Chuin the Magnificent in the Glorious House of Sinanju. May 27th 2008 14:54 |
