Review on APSense WikiWell, I had to write a RevPage as part of my missions today. I wasn't inspired, until I realized it would be nice to have one about the APSense Wiki.
Well, first, I will quote here how the Wiki defines itself, taken directly from its main page:
APsense Wiki is an on site encyclopedia all about APSense and its' many add-ons and features. The Wiki is designed to be a central information database for all APSense users to easily find information and answers about APSense and APSense provided services.
Contrary to groups, where it's a hassle to organize the information and is more useful for discussions on specific topics, the Wiki allows the organization of the information in a simple and straightforward way.
Every features and services will eventually be described in detail. Why is it not the case right now? Well, it's been rebuilt from scratch a few weeks ago, with only a a framework to help us understand where to put the articles, and APSense expects the members to add the information. There have been a good number of articles added, but the more the better, I believe. Especially since one thing explained by a member might not be clear for another, so that member gets a chance to clarify the point.
When you look at the page where the syntax is described, you will realize it's fairly easy to learn how to use the syntax features to produce good looking articles. When in doubt, edit an article that you like, to see how it was made, and copy the techniques that were used in the article you add.
Putting images will enrich the presentation. It's easy to add them, too.
Videos from YouTube can be put in the body of text. Use the embed code provided by YouTube. See an article where I put a video.
As APSense evolves, and we all know it does that often, for our benefit, we can update articles or write new ones.
To access the APSense Wiki, go to your add-on services section on your APSense homepage and add it. Then, as with any other service, you will access it using the APSense Passport.
You can even make suggestions on things you would like to see at APSense.
A moderator of APSense wrote an article about the different roles members can have for the Wiki. You can find it here.
