Your Holidays to Lanzarote Allow You to Visit Popular Places
by Daisy Wilkinson Travel GuidesA year-round pleasant
climate is one of the many reasons why tourists from various corners of the
globe flock to Lanzarote, a charming Spanish island. The temperatures in this
part of the world rarely fall below 21-Degree Celsius during the winters of
Europe. You'll find many places on the island to unwind and spend truly relaxed
moments. There are several excellent beaches to choose from as well. While
enjoying your holiday on this Spanish Island, you'll come across many other fabulous
attractions.
One of them is
undoubtedly the Timanfaya Volcano Park, which is a wonderful place to visit
during your holidays to Lanzarote. It is the island's major tourist attraction
and draws almost a million visitors every year. You'll get to see a surreal
landscape upon visiting this park. The thrilling terrain was created by the
longest volcanic eruption that the world would've rarely experienced before. It
began in the year 1730 and continued until 1736, turning the once fertile farmland
into an ocean of lava. You'll get to enjoy a guided tour of this volcano park during
the tour. While exploring the park, you’ll also get to know the experiences of
a local priest who had witnessed the devastating volcanic eruptions.
Your cheap
holidays to Lanzarote would also allow you to witness the Cactus Garden. It
was created by Cesar Manrique and features the most marvellous species of
cacti. You'll be able to witness more than a thousand different species while
exploring this garden. They have been arranged in terraces quite artfully and
the entire space looks like a bowl-shaped amphitheatre. Visitors to this park
would first witness a magnificent, green, metallic sculpture of cacti with a
height of about 8 metres as they enter the park. This place is truly a paradise
for plant lovers.
Most of the tourists
enjoying their cheap holidays to Lanzarote like to visit the Jameos Del Agua,
which is a lava tube extending up to 6 kilometres. It is located in the
island's northern parts near Punta Mujeres. The popularity of this star
attraction is attributed to the fact that its appearance was further enhanced
by Cesar Manrique. With the assistance from architects Jesus Soto and Luis
Morales, he turned this collapsed lava tube into an impressive subterranean auditorium.
An underground lagoon surrounded by bars, restaurant, and tropical gardens
creates a unique atmosphere. You'll emerge from this underground area to find a
spectacular pool as well. Behind this amazing pool is a concert hall that was
formed from a volcanic rock.
You also wouldn't like to
miss the Cesar Manrique Foundation, which was created by Cesar Manrique. It was
built into five volcanic bubbles and was one of Manrique's first creations on
the island. At the time when its creation was in progress, many thought that
the idea of transforming Lanzarote into a paradise for tourists was a silly
idea. However, when this incredible structure was created by the end of 1968,
they were proved wrong. The building won several awards for its architecture and
the island suddenly became a popular destination. Manrique was also
commissioned by the actor Omar Sharif to build a holiday home of similar style
when he saw the building.
You’ll also get to
explore some awe-inspiring places during your Fuerteventura
holidays.
