Your Cheap Mauritius Holidays Take You to Mesmerising Places

by Amanda Sutcliffe Travel Deals

An island nation located in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius comprises the main island and the islands of Rodrigues, St Brandon and Agalega. This destination is well-known among leisure tourists for its crystal-clear sapphire waters, white-sand beaches, and luxurious resorts. However, it is not all about beaches and blue waters of the ocean. This island country also has many fascinating attractions that would make your holiday a memorable affair. It also gives adventure-seekers the opportunity to indulge in some thrilling outdoor activities.

Your cheap Mauritius holidays would allow you to visit the cosmopolitan town of Grand Baie, located in the district of Riviere du Rempart. You can expect some charming beaches, an exciting nightlife, and some great shopping opportunities during your visit to this place. The main beaches in Grand Baie are Grand Bay Public Beach and La Cuvette Beach. Although these beaches are quite small when compared to the other popular beaches in the country, the waters touching them are clean with a beautiful turquoise colour. While the Grand Bay Public Beach is thronged by crowds of tourists and fishermen, you can enjoy some serenity and space on the La Cuvette Beach.

If you're on your Mauritius holidays accompanied by your family, including children, Casela Nature Park would be a place worth visiting. It is located in the western part of the island nation and has become a favourite with plenty of families. This nature park is spread over a vast area of more than 14 hectares and is home to some exotic species of flora and fauna. It is located on a fascinating hill-top and gives you and your entire family the opportunity to savour some panoramic views and to take some excellent snaps. The children would also be excited to see the lively birds and animals moving around freely in their natural habitat.

Don't miss visiting Chamarel Coloured Earth during your Mauritius holidays, as it is one of the most unique attractions in this part of the world. It is located in the tiny village of Chamarel and has become a major tourist spot over the years owing to an area covered with seven layers of sand; each layer having a different colour than the other. It is truly a rare phenomenon, definitely worth witnessing during your holiday in the island country. The road that leads to the Chamarel village is equally wonderful with pineapple and sugarcane plantations lined up along the path.

Located in the southern part of the country on the Savanne River are the Rochester Falls. The waters from the falls cascade down about 10 metres to land in a pool below. It would be truly mesmerising to see the milky-white water gush through the rocks that appear like rectangular blocks and land in the pool. The rocks are made up of lava and have developed their unique shape owing to years of erosion. You can go on a picnic to Rochester Falls, as they are set amidst beautiful natural surroundings and also give you the chance to enjoy swimming in the pool created by the falling waters.

You’ll get to book cheaper holidays to the most exciting city of the United States when you compare New York holidays offered by different travel companies.
