by John Smith Learner

Organic wine is becoming more popular than ever. Organic wine is gaining more new wine lovers and a new market than ever despite its alcohol content. Beginning from the farm, organic grape farming and wine processing use less or no artificial chemicals according to the specified standards. The standards which constitute organic wine are different in different countries. This article will discuss various reasons why you should choose organic wine.

Winemaking Grapes are grown organically.

As the name suggests, Organic grapes are grown without harmful chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides. The sprayed chemical in inorganic farming may appear on the grapes as residuals. The toxic chemical residuals may find their way into the wine and the surroundings deteriorating the consumer's health and the environment. On the other hand, Organic farmers use green manures to cover crops, animal manures, water conservation to control weeds, pests and improve productivity. Thus, the health benefits of organic wine.

Organic wine contains less sulfite.

Like any other wine, organic wine manufacturers use sulfur dioxide to preserve the wine. However, there are regulations regarding sulfite use in organic wine because of its negative health impact. Depending on the country, sulfate allowed in organic wine is less than in conventional wine. Therefore, there are reduced health effects of sulfite in organic wine.

It has fewer additives.

To improve the color and flavor of conventional wines, manufacturers incorporate some additives like refined sugar, fining and clarification agents, and sulphuric acids. These additions are against the law governing organic wine. These additives may have some adverse health and environmental impacts making organic wine a better choice.

Contain Less added sugar

Although grapes contain enough sugar for winemaking, some winemakers add sugar during fermentation to improve the taste. The added sugar increases the alcohol content and calories in the wine. In organic wine, there are little or no added sugars. So, its alcohol content and calories are low. This phenomenon makes organic wine the best wine to choose.

Lower alcohol content

As a result of less added sugar in organic wine during fermentation, the wine contains less alcohol content. Low alcohol content allows the consumer to take more wine and, therefore, more health benefits.

Low alcohol hangovers

Unlike conventional wine, organic wine has lower headache-causing potential allowing the consumer to be in good condition. This situation results from fewer sulfites and artificial chemicals in Organic wine.

Final Words

Due to the healthy and environmental benefits, organic wine is becoming popular and gaining new wine lovers day by day. As a result, organic wine manufacturers are expanding their organic wines and growing processes to satisfy their customers and fit into the growing market.
