Cinnabon Tropical blast

by John Smith Learner
Have a blast!

I paced the edges of the room impatiently, waiting for my cousins to grace me with their presence. I was never a big fan of family gatherings anyways. The unending noise, children running around and old women discussing the days of old. What was a 21 year old to do here any ways? Pace the room, I assume.

21 is a weird age. It is neither here nor there. Every crowd seems like one you would never fit in. You are forever too old for the young ones and too young for the older generation. You are left with no one taking you seriously.

I headed towards the table with food and drinks. When in doubt, make a beeline towards food. That has always been something I've stuck with. Food never disappoints….

The table was lined with an assortment of delightful treats. I scanned over it, not really hungry for anything. It was boredom that brought me here after all. What could a person possibly sip at when they craved for something that was not water? My eyes immediately zoomed in on an orange drink lined with streaks of red. Printed smack in the middle of it screamed “Cinnabon”. It was their ever famous Tropical Blast
I went back to all the times Cinnabon had served to save me from overly crowded family gatherings and people on the bus that I just did not want to talk to. I wrapped my fingers around the cold beverage. A sip of it reminded me of all the times I spent basking in the sun at our local beach back in Karachi. Those were the days. When you could just get in your car, put the key in the ignition and drive off, literally into the sunset. Well, Cinnabon had managed to create just that. Heaven in a cup!
