Why Indoor Plants Make You Feel Better

Indoor plants are very beneficial for our health because they release oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. This process is the opposite of what we do when we breathe. Hence, they freshen up the air and eliminate harmful toxins. Indoor plants are not only known for their visual beauty but also improve concentration and productivity. 


They effectively reduce stress levels and boost our mind’s mood which makes them a perfect choice for home and workspace as well. Plants with broad leaves help regulate humidity and increase levels of positivity. When we have greenery and nature on our desk it helps us feel more relaxed and calm.


Indoor plants are not only used for specific purposes but also enhance our mood and life. An indoor garden is a source of great joy for many people. We should introduce some indoor plants into our home whether we live in a small apartment or a large house. You will notice improvements in your health and a lot of happiness around you.

Choose a suitable plant

Spend a little bit of time researching the best plants and the best place for them. Generally, most plants release oxygen during the day, and at night when the photosynthesis process stops they release carbon dioxide. There are some plants such as succulents, orchids, and snake plants that emit oxygen at night. 


Therefore, they are perfect plants for the bedroom and provide sound sleep. Air plants are perfect to place in the bathroom because the access moisture helps those plants flourish well. If you have a hot room then you can place ferns and palms because they love hot sunlight.


Lighting requirement

Be careful while placing indoor plants in your home because maximum indoor plants don't like direct sun. It can cause leaf burn, spotting, or sudden leaf fall. 


Watering

Don't water the plant too much. Allow the soil to dry out a bit before the next watering because soggy soil can cause root rot. Keep the plant away from cold drafts. It can cause leaves to curl and eventually drop off. Use organic fertilizer to revive your plant.


Decoration

Plants are an expensive and gorgeous way to style up the most boring rooms. You can try something big like the gorgeous fiddle leaf fig or can decor your window sills with succulents. You can display your plant in a beautiful and ceramic copper container for a gorgeous look.

If you are a beginner at gardening then choose these plants. They are not only easy to look after but provide you with a lot of greenery at a reasonable price.


Golden pothos

This is a perfect plant to get started with as they are low maintenance. They look great in a hanging planter with sprouted new leaves regularly. Pothos are toxic to cats and dogs.


Spider plant

Spider plants are easy to propagate. They sprout babies regularly at the end of their lives. You can share them with friends and family. This low-maintenance plant needs watering from the bottom once a week. Mist it now and then.


Cactus

It is believed that Cacti only flower once in a blue moon but if you care for them correctly they will surprise you with flowers when they grow again. They can tolerate your terrible behavior for years and years. Cacti flowers on new growth throughout the summer. 


Flowering is often stimulated when the roots fill the pot and plants become pot-bound. This is a great plant for people who are new to gardening. They require a light misting of water every so often.


Succulents

Succulents are easy to propagate and low maintenance plants. Generally, they are suitable for most homes. Place them on the window sill where they can get proper sunlight. Succulents have thick fleshy leaves or stems which help to conserve water in their natural habitat. There are lots of varieties available in succulents.


Be careful never over-water your plant because most people kill their indoor plants by pouring water down the center of the plant. The excess water sits in the plant which causes root rot and the plant to die.
