Why Do We Need Protection Dog Training? Fonddogs.com
by Md Mehedi Hasan FREELANCERWhile it is true that there are several reasons for a dog owner to train his or
her dog, protection dog training is often overlooked. In this article, we will go
over some of the basics of protection dog training and how it can benefit you
and your dog.
As mentioned above, protection is the primary reason for training your dog.
That said, protection dog training is not just about trying to protect you or
your family from danger. With proper training, you will be able to help your
dog make you happy.
This can come in the form of calming your dog down. Some dogs are “bad
dogs” that can only create bad situations for people. By training your dog to
be calm and well behaved around humans, you can enjoy having a dog that is
protective and loyal.
Another benefit of protection dog training is to teach your dog to respect
people. It is a natural instinct for a dog to guard their owner. So by teaching
your dog to respect people, you will both be happier and your dog will respect
you.
Dog obedience training can also help you and your dog. You can tell your dog
to stay off your bed, not to climb into your lap, or be ready to give you some
sort of command when you come home late. Not only will you be happier but
your dog will feel better as well.
When it comes to basic dog training commands, dogs usually do them in
order, not from what they are told. Using an example and training your dog
with your voice will help them understand what you mean. So instead of
telling your dog to sit, take your hands and stand beside him and say, “Sit,”
and then wait for him to do it.
There are some dogs that have a hard time doing something in sequence.
You may need to start training them to make them understand this is how
they must behave and get the basics of dog training out of the way.
Remember, not all protection dog training means protecting yourself and
your family. Some owners are interested in their dog training for more
reasons.
