What is a Phrase Thesaurus?

A Phrase thesaurus dictionary provides a list of phrases related to a single word.
It's similar to Taurus like Roget's Thesaurus, but instead of listing synonyms for a word, it lists all relevant statements.

There are a large number of resources that list statements by type or category:

1.Oxford Proverbs Dictionary
2.Oxford Dictionary of Coverings
3.Oxford English Disability Dictionary
4.Brewster's Dictionary of Expressions and Tales
5.Chambers Argo Dictionary

However, since such a book would be too big to be practical, there is no full printed phrase synonyms dictionary that combines all expressions. That's why the whole statement thesauri are online.

Example of a Phrase Thesaurus

When a Phrase thesaurus is searched, the reader is given a list of cursor-related  Phrase they are exploring.

For example, if you look at the word 'dog', the following are the statements listed:

1.Let it be a lie of a sleeping dog
2.A barking dog never bites
