What are the types and uses of batteries

by Ni Caicai hifactory

1. Carbon battery

Primary battery, voltage: 1.5V

Zinc-manganese battery, commonly known as carbon battery. Dry batteries commonly used in daily life. It is currently the cheapest kind of battery. This battery has a low capacity and is prone to leakage. Currently commonly used in TV remote control and other products. Common products: No. 1, No. 2, No. 5, No. 7, button type, etc.

2. Alkaline battery

Primary battery, voltage: 1.5V

Alkaline batteries are currently the most commonly used batteries. The advantage lies in the durable power, which can be 7 times that of carbon batteries. The current output is stable without leakage. It can be used in instruments and equipment with large power consumption. Common products: No. 1, No. 2, No. 5, No. 7, button type, etc.

3. Nickel-cadmium battery

Rechargeable battery, voltage: 1.2V

Disadvantages of nickel-cadmium batteries: large size, heavy weight, small capacity, self-discharge, memory effect, and environmental protection The advantage is that it can be recharged more than 500 times, which is very economical. Resistant to overshoot and over discharge, easy to use and operate. The internal resistance is small, and large current can be discharged, so this product is commonly used in power tools. Common products: No. 1 (D type), No. 2 (C type), No. 5 (AA), No. 7 (AAA), button type and various non-standard models.

4. Ni-MH battery

Rechargeable battery, voltage: 1.2V

The shortcomings of nickel-metal hydride batteries and nickel-cadmium batteries are that they cannot be discharged with large current (currently, there are factories that produce nickel-metal hydride batteries with large current discharge). The advantage is that the same volume capacity is more than double that of nickel cadmium, the memory effect is small, and no pollution is called a green environmental battery. Common products: No. 1 (D type), No. 2 (C type), No. 5 (AA), No. 7 (AAA), button type and various non-standard models.

5. Lithium ion battery

Voltage: 3.7V

Lithium ion battery shells have steel shells and aluminum shells. Aluminum shells have 10% -15% higher capacity than steel shells. Advantages: small size, high capacity and high voltage. The shapes are cylindrical, square and irregular. Commonly used in mobile phone batteries, PDA batteries, laptop batteries.

6. Lithium polymer battery, 3.7v li-ion battery

Voltage: 3.7V

Comparison of lithium polymer battery and lithium ion battery: the outer packaging is aluminum-plastic packaging, which is different from the metal shell of lithium ion. Thanks to the flexible packaging technology, thinner batteries can be produced. The shape can be changed at will. Light weight, higher capacity, small internal resistance, support large current discharge. Commonly used in high-end mobile phone batteries, laptop batteries, various types of power tools and model batteries.
