Weight Loss Tips Post Marriage

by Fitfoodies Mantra fitfoodies

Congratulations on this wonderful new beginning to your life! We are sure that you are just waiting to get all comfy in your new home. But once married, we all know one tends to shift their focus from themselves to their spouse and their in-laws. What this shift of focus can lead to for you is weight gain!

We are of course not saying that you should only be thinking of yourselves during this time, but you need to find a balance between taking care of your in-laws and yourself. Weight gain is a natural process that takes place post any marriage, but it is also one that can be controlled easily. Take a look at some tips that you can keep in mind to help with your weight loss after marriage.

Gauge both your Habits:

Sometimes it may happen that you end up gaining weight without any fault of yours. Small habits like binging on particular foods or giving in to your spouse’s food cravings could easily be leading you to gain weight post your happily ever after.

So try to gauge both your eating habits and your activity levels. Motivate each other. Since you are married doing things together will not be an issue for you, so why not indulge in some good old healthy eating and workout sessions together eh?

Fix a Routine:

It is always good to have a routine when you are looking to lose weight. We understand that once you are married, your routine may easily go haywire when compared to what it used to be early on but try to follow the same routine whilst also including your new family’s needs in it.

If having something written down makes you want to follow things more than so be it. Make a timetable for a day. Include your meals and your new family’s meals too in it so that you don’t feel like you are ignoring them while taking care of your own health. Remember, balance is the key to leading a healthy and happy life.

Convert:

Your new family is not a fan of trying out healthier options? Well, fret not, you can always find healthier alternatives to most of what people seem to enjoy for their meals. For example if your new family is fond of eating chicken, try to convert them to having chicken breast instead of chicken thighs.

Similarly, try to introduce toned or double toned milk to the family and maybe tell them about the benefits it has when compared to full cream milk or the likes.

Hydrate:

As we have been saying for quite some time now, water is literally your best friend when it comes to helping you lead a healthier and more productive lifestyle. Remember to keep yourself hydrated as you go around the house doing your chores or coming home from work!

The optimum amount of water will make sure that you do not feel tired and lethargic all through the day, and will make you feel refreshed while keeping you energetic.

We know that all these things are easier said than done, but trust us, if you truly put your heart and soul into it and you have your new family’s support, it is not impossible at all!
