Variety Of Waxes Provided By Wax Manufacturers In India

by Ashish K. Articles
Waxes are organic compounds consisting of long alkyl chains. The natural waxes may contain unsaturated bonds and contain functional groups such as fatty acids, alcohols, ketones fatty acid esters, aldehydes, and aromatic compounds. Synthetic waxes contain homologous series of long-chain aliphatic hydrocarbons i.e. alkanes or paraffin. Waxes are insoluble in water but soluble in organic or nonpolar solvents.
Waxes are synthesized by many plants and animals. Waxes those are synthesized by animals typically consist of wax esters derived from a variety of carboxylic acids and fatty alcohols. Waxes those are synthesized by plants have characteristic mixtures of unesterified hydrocarbons which are predominate over esters. Beeswax and Lanolin are the best-known animal waxes. Carnauba wax, candelilla wax and ouricury wax are some the plant waxes.

Some of the petroleum-derived waxes are paraffin waxes and microcrystalline wax. These waxes are commonly used in foods such as chewing gum and cheese wrapping, in candles and cosmetics, as non-stick and waterproofing coatings and in polishes.

Different industrial applications of waxes:-
• Candles
• Paper industry
• Advertising & Marketing
• 3D Printing
• Recycling
• Industrial Manufacturing
• Metals
• Medical
• Aerospace
• Art & Sculpture
• Jewelry
• Surf & Ski
• Golf or Sport
• Tools
• Automotive
• Marine
A wide assortment of waxes is provided by the wax manufacturers in India. Some of the waxes available in the market are as follows: -

Paraffin Wax: - This wax is available in slabs and is colorless, odorless and tasteless. This wax is slightly greasy to touch and used in Candles, Plastics, Polishes, Pharmaceuticals, Rubber, Crayons, Castings, and other Industrial Applications.
Beeswax: - Bees Wax is a natural product produced by bees. This wax is widely used Polishes, Coatings, Emulsions, Modeling, Cosmetics, Pharmaceuticals, Candles, and other different uses.

Carnauba Wax: - This wax is obtained from the leaves of the carnauba palm and is used in Confectionary, Coatings, Polishes, Cosmetics, Leather, Pharmaceuticals, inks, Wood and Casting.

Shellac Wax: - This wax is a very hard wax obtained by the solvent extrusion process of Shellac and is used in Polishes, Coating and Pharmaceuticals, Fruit Coatings and Insulating materials.

Polyethylene wax: - Polyethylene waxes are manufactured by many wax manufacturers. These waxes are formulated by three different methods: -
• Direct polymerization of ethylene
• Thermal degradation of high molecular weight polyethylene resins.
• Or recovery of low molecular weight fractions from high molecular weight resins production.

The waxes are mainly utilized in various industries for the formulation of complex products. The main application of polyethylene and polypropylene waxes is in the formulation of colorants for plastics.

Microcrystalline waxes: - These waxes are produced during the petroleum refining process. These waxes are widely used in candles, adhesives, cosmetics, castings, corrugated board, tyre and rubber industries, etc.

Gel wax: - Gel Wax is used in candles and used in ultrasound gel and ECG gel and hair gel.
Soy Wax: - This wax is derived from soy plant and is used in candles and cosmetics.
Montana wax: - This wax is a fossilized wax which is extracted from coal and lignite. This wax is very hard, reflecting the high concentration of saturated fatty acids and alcohols. Even though the wax is dark brown and odorous, it can be purified and bleached to give useful commercial products. This wax is used in manufacturing Carbon Paper, Polishes, and Investment Casting.
Emulsifying Wax: - This wax is a cosmetic emulsifying ingredient and is used in the cosmetic, paper, textile industries, etc.
Candelilla wax: - This wax is hard and brittle in nature used in leather, paper sizing, cosmetics, varnishes, polishes, etc.
Fruit coating wax: - This wax is used in the coating of fruit to improve its external appearance by giving additional shine to the fruit surface.
Rice Bran Wax, Sunflower Wax, Ozokerite Wax, Iran Residue Wax, Hydro Carbon Wax, Palm Wax, and ceresin wax are some of the other variety of waxes available in the market.

Additionally, the waxes offered by the wax manufacturers in India meet the varied requirements of the clients and are available at industry leading price.
