Acne is a common skin disease; we all have experienced acne one way or the other - from mild pimples to never ending breakouts. Acne can cause you to have low self-esteem and often times cause us pain and embarrassment.

Acne is defined as the occurrence of inflamed or infected sebaceous glands in the skin; in particular, a condition characterized by red pimples on the face.

While there are various over the counter skin care products, there are better and natural alternatives that are not only healthier for your skin but will also help you cure your acne problem.

One of these natural alternatives is called tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is a powerful, effective and natural essential oil used for a number of things including acne. With antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties, this natural oil can do wonders to your skin while even preventing acne occurrence in the long run.

Tea tree oil works just like benzoyl peroxide without the side effects. Here are five easy ways to use tea tree oil for acne:

  • Use Tea Tree Oil Directly

The simplest and most effective way to use tea tree oil for acne is to apply a few drops of this antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory oil directly on the affected areas. The oil will work to reduce the redness, swelling and inflammation, while also eliminating the acne-causing bacteria and drying up the pimples. If first time using it, make sure you dilute it with water prior to applying it to affected area(s).

  • Use it as a Facial Cleanser

Simply dilute a few drops of tea tree oil with distilled water, and then use a cotton puff to apply to your face. This facial cleanser can be used in the morning and at night.

A great alternative instead of using oil on your face is to try using cream. With tea tree oil as the active ingredient, Keeva Organics Tea Tree Oil Acne Treatment Cream is a highly recommended cream to use for acne.

  • Use it as a Facial Toner

Mix together ¼ cup distilled water, a couple drops of tea tree oil and ¼ cup apple cider vinegar and pour it into a small spray bottle. Add the cap and shake gently. It’s now ready to use.

  • Use it as a Facial Scrub

Mix together 10 drops of tea tree oil, 1/8 cup of olive oil, ¼ cup sugar into a small bowl. Use this facial scrub before bedtime.

  • Use it as a Face Mask

When you mix tea tree oil and aloe vera you can easily create a powerful item that will surely clear your face acne, as well as acne scars. Simply mix together 2-3 teaspoons of aloe vera and 3 to 4 drops of tea tree oil together. Then apply mixture on affected area(s) using a clean cotton ball or Q-tip. Keep it on for about 10-15 minutes and then wash with warm water and pat dry. Apply this face mask every 2 to 3 days.

Tea tree oil is an effective and natural alternative for curing acne. Instead of always opting to using over the counter skin care products, consider using tea tree oil first. However, if you do opt to using skin care products, Keeva Organics offers a variety of acne related products such as the Keeva Organics Tea Tree Oil Acne Treatment Cream, which is the number one, best-selling acne product and is proven to work.
