and precious metals (84.2%). Other commodities that registered growth in
imports were pharmaceuticals (8.8%), plastics material and items (3.1%), and
organic chemicals (2.4%). The sector showed the steepest decline in imports of
mineral fuel (-38.1%). Commodities that showed a decline in imports were
vehicles (-17.9% ) and optical and medical devices (-6.2%).

If we examine the export
import data we learn 45.1% of America’s imports come from Asia.
25.2% of the imports come from other countries in North America and 23.9% of
imports are from Europe.
