Types of Outdoor Banners and Flags

When choosing advertising options for your business, there are a lot of possibilities to consider. Outside advertising banners are a great choice because they have been proven to be effective, increasing foot traffic to your business dramatically more than other forms of advertising. If you’ve decided to go with outdoor banners, there are a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles to choose from. Here are some of the options you should know.

Feather Flags

Feather flags are long, narrow, feather-shaped flags that hang off of a long pole. They also go by the names swooper flags or flag banners. These are always a popular choice for car dealerships. They frequently line the parking lots of all types of businesses and can be used for sales and events.

Blade Flags

Blade flags are exactly like feather flags, but they differ just slightly in shape. The top of it is flat where the other goes off into a point. Feather flags are more popular, but if you’re looking to be a little different from your competition, blade flags are the way to go.

Rectangle Flags

Rectangle flags are similar to feather flags and blade flags, but they are sized a little differently. These flags are three feet wide, so they have more surface area for your logo or brand message. Like the feather flags and blade flags, they are strong and durable, and can be used both inside and outside.

Teardrop Flags

Teardrop flags are the most uniquely shaped banner. They are round at the top and they taper off towards the bottom, like a teardrop. These flags are set up the same way as the other flags. They have the least amount of actual space on the flag for text or images, since the bottom is so narrow. However, they work well if you have a small logo and they are the most eye-catching shape.

Vinyl Banners

Vinyl banners are completely different from the flags that are available. Instead of being mounted on a pole, vinyl banners are secured with grommets so that the banner is stable even in heavy winds and rain, keeping a defined shape. Just like the other options, these can be custom-made, and they are durable and long-lasting.

Outside advertising banners are a guaranteed way to improve your promotional tactics. Each type is a little different in shape, but they are all great options to better your business.
