Types of Literature Review Papers

Unless your an expert dissertation writer who offers write my literature review online services most students don't know that there are five different types of literature reviews.  Literature review papers assume many forms according to the kind of message you want to deliver and also according to the content of your paper. They vary from one person to another depending on their view of the subject in play and according to the approach they decide to take. You cannot write a literature paper in support of a certain theory the same as how you will write it while against it. Without further ado let’s jump in right into the types of literature review papers.

Argumentative reviews

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and review and it is at this juncture that people will often agree to disagree on certain things. As much as a certain theory seems right to you does not mean it will reflect the same to me. Argumentative literature reviews offer the platform for any concern raised against the theories to be presented; this just one way of analyzing literature.

Historical review

History is quite a define way of view as things that happened have no chance of changing unless people went back in time. Historical literature reviews take the approach of analyzing certain arguments as they have been placed over time, from their origin till now and by joining the pieces you can base your argument quite strongly. This kind can go two ways where you are looking to build on an argument or researching it to correct some facts.

Theoretical reviews

This is one of the most applied literature reviews that look into the theories that are already in play and looking into what extent they have been proven. In this case, the reviewer may come up with a new hypothesis to be tested with the same theory. Some theories are quite definite and they give little room for argument but they give lots of room for testing.

Methodological review

This is an issue of perspective where people choose to take the perspective of how something was said or done rather than what it was. The ‘HOW’ basically shows the method of implementation. However, this is a gradual view as it then spreads on to get the nitty-gritty. However the methodological review has limited outcomes as only one is correct and most of the rest are assumptions based on previous experiences, motive, and culture only to name a few.

Before proceeding it is good to realize that once in a while in the reviews, people will tend to blend two of them together depending on their approach. The most repetitive one is the argumentative review. It appears amidst most others in the event where there is a new hypothesis in play.

Systematic review

This is a kind of review which shows an overview of existing evidence in relation to a given research question. This may appear in a couple of forms and it is usually carried in for another kind of research. Where you have to get the research, collect information and analyze the data found. However, at the end of the day, the kind of question you will be looking to answer is how one things correlation to another affects it.
