Tips for Maintaining your Oxygen Concentrator

by chandra joshi i m blogger

An oxygen concentrator is introduced as an electrical gadget that works on the principle of separating the amount of oxygen concentration from the atmospheric air and supplying only oxygen-rich steam to the user. As the gases present in the atmosphere contain a high proportion of nitrogen followed by oxygen, from which only the amount of oxygen should be separated in order to achieve an entire and high concentrated oxygen supply.

Oxygen concentrator functions on the Pressure Swing Adsorption technology. This technological advancement of delivering a high concentration of oxygen comes in many forms and types depending upon the need and usage of the user, such as 5L capacity Jumao Oxygen Concentrator, 6L capacity Dedakj Oxygen Concentrator, etc.

An oxygen concentrator is different from an oxygen cylinder in many ways, of which the most significant is that the oxygen cylinder is the storage of a compressed form of oxygen that needs refilling from time to time, whereas an oxygen concentrator works electrically and extracts oxygen from the atmospheric gases. Oxygen concentrators are now used globally with the aim of providing a sufficient supply of oxygen to the users.

Here are some tips to maintain an oxygen concentrator:

To be kept safe from fires and flames: A respectable and a minimum of two meters distance should be maintained between an oxygen concentrator and any source of fire or flame such as gas stoves, ovens, bonfires, etc. as oxygen is the supporter of flame, and it may prove hazardous and even fatal.

Proper cleaning: All the pieces of equipment and accessories associated with the oxygen concentrator such as the tube, cannula, filters, concentrator, humidifiers, etc. even the bp machine that is generally used for monitoring the blood pressure along with the oxygen levels should be cleaned and taken care of from time to time, any direct contact with the water or the moist air must be avoided.

Avoid smoking: Smoking is strictly restricted for people undergoing any oxygen inhaling sessions as it may cause severe injuries to the user. It is advised that either the oxygen concentrator or the accessories should never come in contact with the smoke of the cigarette. If the person still wishes to smoke, they must switch off the concentrator before smoking.

Proper storage: Though the new technological advancements have given us an upper hand by making the oxygen concentrators portable but still their storage is a major criterion of concern. One should always be aware of the safety of the concentrator and should keep them safe from falling, breaking, or any other sort of damage.

Maintenance guides: All the information regarding usage of the concentrator, its associated equipment, guarantee, and warranty periods are mentioned in the user manuals and guides that must be followed before switching on the device.

One must buy all the medical and healthcare-related types of equipment, devices, etc., from reputed retailers like Smart Medical Buyers from either online or offline portals in order to avail interesting offers and receive authentic products only.

In simple terms, the tips for maintaining the oxygen concentrator are majorly like any other technical gadget, with some easy-to-remember precautions that must be followed to achieve an accurate and efficient supply of oxygen.
