by GDY Airtech Enterprises Consultant
Having a commercial refrigerator or HVAC system give up on your establishment during a busy day is a situation that many business owners would like to avoid. It causes delays, extra expenses, and it could also make you lose profit.

However, sudden breakdowns can be avoided—or at least minimized—with the help of a few basic tips such as:

Preventive Maintenance

A common mistake by many HVAC/R system owners is that they tend to only have their units checked when something has already gone wrong with it. This could spell several hours or even days of downtime before operations go back to normal.

This can be best avoided by following a maintenance schedule to allow for more chances to spot potential issues and keep the system running in optimal condition. Not only that, but maintenance jobs are usually less expensive overall than repairs.

Clean The Inside and The Outside

This can be dangerous especially for employees and/or customers that have

With a regular cleaning schedule, you allow the unit to constantly provide cool air that is also clean and healthy.

Upgrade The System

In some situations, the best option for improving your system's performance is to upgrade its components. This is especially if you are dealing with an old unit. As well maintained as they can be, sometimes old components just can't meet with the increasing needs of a growing business.

Instead of just replacing, say, a broken compressor with another of the same model, it might be better to get a more modern but still compatible model. Newer parts are also more energy efficient. If it comes down to it, getting a completely new system can be more cost-friendly for you in the long run instead of constantly repairing and replacing individual parts.

While you can do maintenance work and upgrades in-house, it’s also a good idea to get in touch with trusted commercial HVAC contractors. When the situation turns dire, they can give you the professional advice and assistance that your business needs.
