Things to Consider Before Choosing An Architectural Lighting Design Companyby Rune Larsen Business Owner
When you are looking for an Architectural Lighting Design Company, there are a few critical things you have to consider. If you choose a lighting design company without doing proper research, you risk ending up with a company that does not possess the competencies needed for your project.
Here are a few critical things you must consider before deciding:
Does the company you consider have any relevant references? If a company has many professional references, it is a good indication that they know what they do and that their customers and/or partners approve their previous work. References can also be called cases, and can often be found at a given lighting company’s website in a menu or in a separate section. References can also be used to give you an indication of whether the lighting company is suitable for your project or not. If you need a durable and high-luminosity LED solution, you should look for references with similar characteristics. If the lighting design company you are considering primarily has references of minor decorative LED solutions, they are most likely not suitable for delivering a durable and high-luminosity LED solution.
- Lighting Designers
They may call themselves an architectural lighting design company, but do they have any actual designers associated? If yes, are these designers educated? Some companies are making themselves appear more professional, by mentioning the title “lighting designer” on their website. If you cannot find any information about a company’s use of lighting designers, do not hesitate to contact them and ask. A self proclaimed lighting designer without education can really mess up a LED solution, even if the products are great.
Price and quality still goes hand in hand – even in a saturated market. Choosing the cheapest of the cheapest company is most definitely to take a risk. If an architectural LED lighting design company has years of experience, lots of good references and educated lighting designers associated, would they do it for ridiculous bargain prices? The answer is no. Do your research and be realistic regarding the price.
