The use of visual tools for creating interactive infographics

by Sia Pitt Business

The future of data visualization lies in generating interactivity. Only creating common, boring, and dull images do not spread the message. The human brain is such that it is willing to take in information as long as it can retain an interest in the subject. People are more willing to read, understand, and remember a slide of a presentation that incorporates engaging visuals. The problem that lies here is that most images serve as essential learning tools that have a limit. Thus, companies that offer presentation services tend to combine words with the right graphics.

A primary goal of data forecasting and visualization is to communicate the information clearly and efficiently to the target group via the statistical graphics, plots, charts, information graphics, and tables of your choice. Visualizing such complex data helps users in analyzing and reasoning about the evidence that is found. The software that uses infographic tools makes complex data accessible, understandable and usable. There may be issues trying to recognize a particular analytical by making comparisons or understanding causality, and the design principle of the graphic. Visualization data is required to view a particular measure of a variable as they are used where the reader needs to look-up.  Charts of various types are applied to show patterns or correlations in the data for one or more variables.

Through kinetic learning, people can retain better information through a particular physical activity. Adding interactivity to data visualization makes infographic more memorable and striking. Sometimes, there are a few infographic topics that don’t support the use of any interactive elements. In such cases, interactivity can help to make sense of the information. It lets the user get better information and capture the imagination of a reader in many ways that normal static graphics can't explain. Creating interactive infographics also involve animations and transitions where a viewer has to scroll to trigger those movements. Also, the use of clicks and rollovers work as an excellent tactic to create curiosity and make the user skip over topics that are of least interest to them. It would work as a strategy where they can continue watching the rest of graphics with the same level of enthusiasm.

Such infographics work as a great technique when it comes to drawing viewers into a story and making them feel more engaged without having to overtax any limits of interest. Elements on each page are interactive and go beyond simple topics. So, clicking on a new page ensures that the user has sufficient time to digest one portion before moving on to the next set of graphics. Some of the best infographics are the ones that take a bulky amount of data and still manage to compress it into a single graphic. In spite of this, there are visualization data that take some patience and perseverance to understand.

The rise in interactive infographics can be correlated with a similar increase in animation and transition tools. Both of them play an indispensable role in making the process of creating the most elaborate visual effects astonishingly convenient.
