The Top 3 Common Car Problems

by Roselands Auto Lakemba Mechanic

Life can feel pretty challenging at times. We find ourselves spending so much time working and trying to provide for ourselves and our families. Busy days can run into busy days, and it all becomes a blur sometimes. We’re thankful when everything is going well, and we appreciate things that make our lives easier and bring us enjoyment. Having a beautiful house or place to rent, a good job and a nice car all make us feel better about life.

With cars, one of the things we quickly find out is that life feels a lot better when your car is running right. We rely on our vehicle for so many things, and when there’s an issue or problem that can really bring us down. If you want to keep your car in great shape, one of the best things you can do is to have a superb Earlwood mechanic who cares for your car as if it were their own.

Dead Battery

If you existing battery is older, or your car has been sitting for a while, you could find yourself going out to your car in the morning and finding it simply won’t start. Leaving the headlights on, or having an interior light on all night when a door didn’t fully close can also cause a problem.

Often, you can call roadside assistance out to give your battery a jump and you’ll be fine. You might also invest in rechargeable device that lets you jump your own battery. Your Earlwood mechanic can test that battery to see if it’s still in working order and able to hold a charge.

Warning Lights Are Illuminated

Modern cars have a lot of sensors, and sophisticated computers that are always monitoring what is going on. One of the most common warning lights that might go on is the check engine light. This comes on when the ECU, or engine control unit, of the vehicle senses an issue somewhere.

Your mechanic can do an inspection and track down which of the 200 specific warning codes is showing up as the error. From there, they can make any necessary repairs.

Wheel Alignment

When you find your car is pulling to either the left of right when you are driving, or it seems your steering wheel is not centred when you are driving straight, you may need a wheel alignment.

An alignment is actually an adjustment to the suspension on the vehicle, not an adjustment to the tires. This process makes an adjustment to the angle of the tires, and how they contact the highway.
