The HP Designjet T120 Is An Excellent Choice For All Manner Of Wide Format Printingby Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager
When you are a designer looking to invest in a wide format printer for your office, your choice is likely to be greatly influenced by the exact print results that you wish to achieve with it.
Some designers intend to use their wide format printer principally for monochrome and line colour prints, for example, while others may be most interested in colour presentation prints or posters. The perfect choice would certainly be a versatile printer that can achieve both.
Which printer would be best suited for achieving all of this within small design offices with low print volume output, such as architectural and landscape design, kitchen and interior design, building and construction companies?
What makes the HP DesignJet T120 ideal for your design office?
There are more than a few great reasons to opt for the HP T120 DesignJet printer when you are seeking the best low-volume printer for all manner of forms of Wide Format Printing.
This easy-to-use, compact and budget printer is designed for printing up to 75 A1 prints per week and, with a print speed of 70 seconds for an A1 drawing, the printer will output 40 A1 prints an hour. A great asset for any small design office, studio or architectural practice.
With it's single roll feed which will take roll widths of 297mm to 610mm and paper weights of up to 280gsm, and with a multi-tray for A3 and A4 cut sheets in weights of up to 220gsm, it is clear that this printer was designed to multi-task. And with additional technical features which include Wi-Fi and network connection, 256Mb processing memory and a one year warranty, this printer is ready to plug in and go. All that is required is the right paper for the task.
With that in mind, the HP T120 is capable of producing both monochrome and line colour A1 CAD prints, as well as simple colour presentations using the four colour cartridges of black, cyan, magenta and yellow. This provides versatility and flexibility at a great price for all manner of print requirements when combined with the perfect paper.
For CAD monochrome and line colour technical drawings, an uncoated paper is all you need to produce high quality prints. Our PCR90 Uncoated Inkjet Plotter Paper is our most popular paper, being a heavier 90gsm weight and a high performing and affordable option. Importantly, this is a consistent paper for consistently high quality results that can cope with light solid fill as well as line colour output. To make your printing run as smoothly as possible, we supply this paper in a 594mm width roll to enable you to print to standard A1 size, meaning no need to trim, but of course the same paper is also available in a width of 610mm.
However, this same printer will also allow you to create full colour presentations and posters, again using the right paper for the task. For high quality results a coated paper is a must and for this purpose we recommend our CJSC100 Coated Inkjet Plotter Paper 100gsm or our PHR120 Coated Inkjet Plotter Paper 120gsm. Both of these papers have a smooth, white surface that can cope with the heavier ink loads required for presentations with vivid colours and superb contrast, all with the fast drying time necessary for pristine results.
But that's not all this printer can achieve. Upgrade your paper to our Satin Photo Paper in, for example, a 190gsm weight and the HP T120 will allow you to produce your own in house posters within the spectrum of the 4 colour gamut. This photo paper is ideal for maps, photos and charts and has a microporous coating that enables the ink to dry instantly with fantastic colour contrast for sharp, brilliant images.

"We have two of these machines in different locations. They are easy to set up and paper format changes are really easy, from roll to multi-tray. Also changing the roll or ink cartridge is simple too. Great quality printing, which we need for our business. I would recommend this product and Prizma Graphics, who know what they are talking about!"
