The Game Roulette

by Ute Machnik Fun and Games

If there is any game that intrigues many gamblers, it is definitely the classic game of Roulette. The game appears sophisticated, with a name that suggests that it is not of English origin. The name means "Little Wheel", but the wheel used for the wagers is by no means little. This simple game is one that adds class to gambling.

The History of the Roulette

The game can be traced to the 17th century where it was mistakenly invented by Blaise Pascal, a physicist. Historians recount that the physicist was creating a motion machine, not necessarily a casino game. He wanted to develop a machine that can operate without needing energy from an external source. Well of course, he failed. However, this failure can be described as the best in history because it brought to us the Roulette.

The Roulette Zero

When Pascal's invention was being used in the betting houses for centuries, there was no zero. Much later, Francois and Lois Blanc proposed a roulette wheel which had a single zero. This brought a considerable edge to the game. This special wheel was then created for King Charles Ⅲ of Monaco.

The Wild West also had an influence on today's Roulette wheel. By the 18th century in America, the wheel ended up having a double zero, making the total number of figures on the wheel 38.

How to play

There are various tips on how to play this game on several websites. On this website, you can find the best casinos where you can play the Roulette.

The Roulette is a game of the utmost class. This might be because of its French origins. Today, many casinos have a roulette wheel for the clients' satisfaction, and the game is readily available to be played online as well. All thanks to one failed experiment.
