The Eminence of Plastic Slip Sheets

Slip sheets refer to the thin pallet sized sheets made of Plastic, paperboard or fibreboard which are used in commercial shipping. It is generally used as a pallet supporting device in the transportation of various goods. When these sheets are supported with the help of pallet board or a cart or fork lift truck, the strength of slip sheets supports the load of product’s weight. These slip sheets are of several types in terms of shapes, dimensions, lip extensions and material which is used in its manufacturing. Following are two common types of Slip sheets:-

• Single Lip Slip Sheet:- In this type of slip sheet, a rectangular unit load is faced with the narrow part of the lip. This slip sheet helps in maximizing the loading and unloading process productivity.
•  Multi Lip Slip Sheet:- This type of slip sheet is commonly used on a container placed on ocean delivery vehicles due to various loading and unloading patterns. This allows loading of a slip sheet from one side and unloading from the other side. 

Slip Sheets Materials

• Fibreboard:-These slip sheets consists of various layers of sheets of fibreboard laminated together. It increases the strength of the slip sheets which allows it to be used several times.
• Corrugated:-Corrugated slip sheets are generally bonded together with a glue or adhesive, which provides the necessary strength for the device to clamp the sheets once or twice. These kinds of slip sheet are not very durable and are also not resistant to moisture.
• Plastic:-Plastic Sheets are the most popular type of slip sheets that are made from the recycled polypropylene or polyethylene materials. This type of slip sheet is highly resistant to tearing and has several uses at different temperatures. It has a longer sheet life as compared to various other slip sheets available in the market and is highly durable. It can be stored in hot humid or cold dry environments.   

Due to various advantages of plastic slip sheets as compared to other materials available in the market, these are highly demanded in various industries. This high demand has provided various revenue earning options to its manufacturers and suppliers. They must ensure that these products are manufactured strictly as per the industrial norms and customer’s requirement. They should follow various cost-cutting techniques in order to make their product cheaper in the market as compared to that of the competitors. Price differentiation strategy must be followed in order to attract more customers and to increase market share.
