THE BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN LONDON IN THE SUMMER

by Sara B. Writer | Blogger | Content Creator

The Palaces of Westminster include Buckingham Palace and the Palaces of Westminster.

Any traveller to London should pay a visit to the Royal Palace, by booking a ride from West Wey Ride. You will be able to tour the inside of the palace and see the historic changing of the guard. Buckingham Palace enables up to 19 royals to stay for several weeks during the year's hottest months. While this may seem obvious, keep in mind that you are not the only one who aspires to experience a day in the life of a queen!

London's heart

In addition to the official residence, a visit to other historically noteworthy buildings is necessary. We'll begin our journey at Westminster Abbey, one of the city's most popular attractions and the burial place of prominent personalities like Charles Dickens and Isaac Newton. The House of Commons and the House of Lords are housed in the Palace of Westminster, right next door. Take a trip to Saint Paul's Cathedral to complete your adventure, which Henry VIII erected when he cut connections with the Vatican. The breach with Rome had additional ramifications, including using the Tower of London, which originates from the 11th century to torture political and religious captives. Take a trip through Greenwich to visit the Old Royal Naval College, the Tudors' favourite royal house, and board the Cutty Sark, one of London's most iconic ships, to round up your afternoon.

All of London's parks in all of their glory.

The magnificent open spaces of London are ideal for exploring on a bike in the summer. See the squirrels, lakes, and historical monuments like Kensington Palace and Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park, London's most famous green park. On Sundays, crowds gather to hear talks from speakers as different as Karl Marx and George Orwell. Hampstead Heath is one of the city's most attractive sites, with a postcard-worthy sunset painting of the sky.

After climbing the London Eye, it's time to have a fresh look at the metropolis.

Take a cruise down the Thames River. It's about taking a boat tour from the iconic London Ferris wheel that will take you past Big Ben, the London Bridge, and on to Canary Wharf, or a narrow boat tour of the Regent's Canal to learn more about the importance canal networks played in the history of the UK.

The world's most excellent museums.

The British Museum is one of the world's largest museums, housing artefacts from all around the globe, including the Rosetta Stone, Parthenon marble, and Egyptian mummies. Visit the National Gallery and Trafalgar Square to see masterpieces by Vermeer, van Dyck, Rubens, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh, to mention a few. The Tate Contemporary features work by Picasso, Braque, Klee, and Rodin and are the best modern art collection in the city. If you prefer contemporary art, don't miss a visit there. If you're not interested in art, the Natural History Museum is an excellent alternative with gorgeous architecture and artefacts.

Neighborhoods each have their personality.

It's excellent for a family or couple visiting London to get lost in some of its most recognized neighbourhoods. The story begins in 1970s Camden Town, the birthplace of punk rock and the accompanying irreverent youth culture. Take a stroll through the food stalls at Camden Lock Market, choose something delicious, and then rest along the canal to soak up the sun. Pay tribute to Amy Winehouse by paying a visit to her nearby statue. Another alternative district is Shoreditch, which boasts the most street art in the city and a thriving flower market. The Royal Albert Hall, Holland Park, and the Kensington Roof Gardens are excellent places to see how the upper class lives, but a tour through Kensington will show you how the poorer classes live.

Carnival in Notting Hill:

A well-known example of this is the Notting Hill Carnival. This festival, which attracts tens of thousands of people from all over the country and turns Notting Hill into an actual carnival, is organized by the Afro-Caribbean community. You're bound to have a good time if you visit this north London neighbourhood throughout the summer, especially on the weekend proceeding the last Monday in August. You'll want to arrive early in the morning to have a good spot, especially if you're going on Monday when the main procession takes place.

Shows in the Open Air

We didn't leave any parks out of the previous section, but we believe that the best way to experience the following is to attend one of London's outdoor shows during the summer. For summer nights and afternoons, Regent's Park, for example, has an open-air theatre. There is a lot to choose from, but the most popular option is to see one of Shakespeare's most memorable performances. Opera will be performed at Holland Park from June until the end of July as part of the park's summer season. If you prefer movies, Greenwich Park is a terrific site to see some classics, or you can opt for an open-air screening on one of the city's best rooftop terraces.

Concerts in the Open Air

Even though no park was left out in the preceding section, we believe that seeing a concert at one of the many outdoor events conducted in London throughout the summer is a beautiful way to see them all. For summer nights and afternoons, Regent's Park, for example, has an open-air theatre. Attending one of Shakespeare's most memorable interpretations is the most common thing to do. Opera will be performed at Holland Park from June until the end of July as part of the park's summer season. If you'd rather watch a movie, Greenwich Park offers a variety of possibilities, including classic film screenings and open-air screenings on some of the city's most stunning terraces.

In the city, there are beaches.

If you're traveling with your family to London, you'll want to see as many historical sites as possible. Visiting one of the numerous new urban beaches cropping up throughout the city is a terrific way to take advantage of the nice weather. The Royal Docks' Dock Beach is one of the most well-known, with a children's pool and various activities. Neverland London is a tropical paradise with food trucks providing everything from pizza and cocktails to grilled meats and seafood for a unique experience.

The Wimbledon Championships are currently underway. This is one of London's most important athletic events because it is the oldest tennis tournament. Get your tickets as soon as possible if you want to rub shoulders with the British jet-set and have strawberries and cream while watching the world's best tennis players compete.

It's a chic way to shop.

Because of the extended daylight hours, the summer months in London's capital are great for window shopping. First, London's famed Oxford Street serves as the city's "golden mile," with well-known businesses such as Selfridges. On the other hand, you may take a trip down Carnaby Street, home to some of the world's most notable fashion labels. Visiting one of the city's major markets, such as Portobello Road, is an excellent way to sample the city's used items.
