by Jackson Clark SEO Executive

Hello adventure lovers, rangers, mountaineers and aspirants. Well, if you are looking for your new adventure which is exciting, thrilling and cool at the same moment we have an excellent place for you to trip. Climb Mount Kilimanjaro… the highest peak of Africa and the tallest freestanding mountain on the earth.

About Kilimanjaro:

Kilimanjaro has three volcanic cones: Mawenzi, Kibo and Shira which are situated within the Tanzania Destinations National Park and is 5895 meters above the sea level. While Mawenzi and Shira are now extinct volcanoes, Kibo is a dormant volcano and could erupt again. Last time it eroded was 150000 to 200000 years ago. You may be able to smell sulphurtrekking around the Reush Crater. The summit of Kilimanjaro is crowned by vast ice covering about 400 square kilometers down to elevation of 10500 feats.

Trekking Kilimanjaro:

Kilimanjaro is known as highest walkable mountain in the world since it does not require much technical climbing skills, though having some is always useful. But please do not under estimate the climb as the same summit holds a reputation of being a very long hike. This is the reason for success rates at some of the routes being near 50%. While your body may not cope well with such extremely high altitude reached comparatively so early, you may also face trouble with high winds and low temperature. Also, officially there are 2-3 deaths per year which are due to lack of safety and unpreparedness. But my dear adventure lovers, rangers and mountaineers, let not the epic trek daunt your willingness and hunger for the venture. In past with right level of preparations, Climb Kilimanjaro has been conquered safely by all types of hikers- old, young, fit, unfit and even the disables.

Routes to the success:

There are 7 routes for climbing Kilimanjaro. These are: Lemosho route, Machame route, Marangu route, Northern circuit, Rongai route, Shira Route and Umbwe route. The Rongai is the easiest and least scenic of all camping routes, while Machame is considered the most charming, although steeper route. It can be achieved in six or seven days.

Best season to plan a climb:

There are two main trekking seasons on Mount Kilimanjaro – January-March and June-October. The former season is generally colder than the latter but is also often quieter.Snow cover on the mountain is highest during November-May, so if you plan a vacation besides a hill station, this would be best time to live it.

Nothing comes without a price:

Unlike past, trekkers now have to compulsorily hike with a registered guide to avoid casualties. Also trekkers are required to pay entrance fees to the Tanzania National Park which costs around $1000. Today, the standard setup for a trek involves a full support team of a guide, cook and porters, who are helpful in getting most trekkers to the summit successfully and safely. All such expenses add costs up to $ 2000 - $ 2500 average for a standard travel.

Well dear aspirants, wish you the best with your escapade and you shall have a good experience.
