The 90 Greatest ’90s Fashion Trends

by Elliot R. Freelance Writer Specialising In Business and Mark

Whether you lived in the 90s, were born in the 90s or even just look back at the 90s and think that there were some cool looks out there, it doesn't matter, because these styles are back! Some may hate the new looks whereas others have been dying for this style to come back around. There's no denying that there were some absolute staples for the wardrobe, but it has also brought some truly disgusting trends which don’t need to be coming back any time soon. Whether it's the greasy boy band haircut or the baggy jeans with chains you are going to either love or hate this list of 90s trends coming back in 2022, so let's get started.

Baggy Jeans

Baggy jeans were everywhere in the 90s, despite the many floors they had. These baggy jeans swallowed your shoes up, scraped the floor and absorbed any mud or water that was possible. This was the case for most of the 90s until the pockets got too deep and the legs got wider until it changed dramatically. Skinny jeans then took to market and they then became extremely popular. Although skinny jeans are out, and baggy jeans are still out, there has been a change for more fitted looser-fitting jeans. This doesn't mean that you should go and buy a pair of baggy jeans, but a looser pair than you have in your wardrobe now. Pair with some new high tops and you are on trend for the 90s.

High Top Sneaker

Thanks to Air Jordan and Reebok, most trainers in the 90s were high tops. These ankle strap basketball treds were synonymous with the 90s and everyone from children to celebrities were wanting a pair of high tops. Usually, when a trend peaks so quickly, it often quickly disappears, but not with the high-top tred, the high-top sneaker is now bigger than ever with other brands following the originals. They are versatile enough and durable enough to be paired with many outfits, and more people are now buying designer trainers than ever.

Windbreakers

Windbreakers have been here since the 70s, but they were particularly popular in the 90s. They looked great with a colourful print or bold patterns and were obviously the go-to for casual outerwear. No matter if you were going on a day trip, a ban holiday hike or a trip to the shops, windbreakers were taken everywhere with you.  Windbreakers are still popular to this day, but without the headache-inducing colours and bold patterns. Instead, they are toned down with just a single or two-tone colour.

Bum Bags

In the 90s you had a lot of things to carry. Huge wallets the size of a brick, your Gameboy, your walkmen and possibly even a portable pone if you were fancy. Not all of this fit into your pockets, not even those extra-deep ones. Cargos, maybe, but usually one would opt for the classic bum bag. These have come back in but in a much more luxurious way, top designers like Louis Vuitton now create satchel bags that are all on trend
