The process to Cancel Flight Ticket
First, go to Southwest.com/cancel or open the Southwest app and select "View Reservation" from the menu. Alternatively, if you have booked a trip using your Rapid Rewards account and logged in, you can view it in your account.
Please provide your confirmation number and passenger name when booking.
The available travel funds or refundable balance will be displayed attached to the confirmation number you entered. If you have a refundable amount left, you can either get a refund using your original payment method or convert the fare to travel funds.
Tap or click "Cancel Flight" to cancel the flight for all passengers.
Credit card refunds may take up to two billing cycles to appear on your statement.
Travel funds are available immediately. Travel funds are automatically added to your account if you used your Rapid Rewards number when booking.
Anytime and Business Select fares are refundable if passengers cancel up to one hour prior to scheduled departure and have the option to receive a refund using their original payment method within 7-10 business days.
If passengers cancel their Southwest booking within 24 hours via southwest.com, the mobile app, or the Southwest customer service number, passengers will receive a full refund of any fare, reverting to their original payment method, or elect to convert it into future travel credit. which remains in effect for up to one year from the original booking date.
The refund of the canceled Southwest flight will apply to the unused portion of the ticket.
