Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of speech, learning arts, music, culture or any other knowledge. According to the Hindu texts, there have been variations regarding the spouse of Devi Saraswati. She is considered to be the consort or daughter of Lord Brahma. She represents a conflict between good or evil, knowledge and ignorance which ultimately leads to success or failure.

As per the Hindu texts, Lord Brahma created the universe but there was silence all around. There was a complete absence of sound or music everywhere. Every living thing or movement of any object was muted. So, this initiated trouble in the mind of Brahma that life in this way is not possible which inspired him to create Goddess of sound, music, art, knowledge, skills and talent Devi Saraswati.

Goddess Saraswati as perceived in the Saraswati statue is with four arms holding a book, a rosary, a pot filled with water and a Veena (a musical instrument). Each of these holdings has a symbolic meaning which is related to the blessings given by Devi Saraswati to her devotees.

After the creation of Goddess Saraswati, it seemed everything came to life, music existed, rivers started flowing with a sound, people started speaking with the power of speech, there was a sound of each and every movement, even the wind flowed with a whisper.
