Remember All Wars - A Book Review

by amelia b. Seo writer

Christopher Wanliss is one of the top ten all time leaders in the news. The award goes to someone who has actually contributed to the public dialogue rather than doing media relations for a corporation. He was actually employed by the CIA, where he worked as an overseas field agent before going into business for himself.

Christopher Wanliss

I first came across Wanliss in 1997 when he wrote and published a book on gold investment. It is very rare for an author to come out and say that he tried investing in gold and then not get a single dime back from his efforts. Some folks will do this just so they can say that the person is a scam artist. Others see it as a challenge to their status. But, does Christopher Wanliss actually believe what he is saying or is he just blowing hot and cold air?

In his book "The American Pharaoh", he reveals quite a bit about the gold market and the shady characters that inhabit it. The book talks about how the US government used covert action tactics to discredit gold trading and coin dealers. This caused the price of gold to skyrocket and then fell. After this, people turned their attention to other metals like aluminum and copper.

Christopher also reveals how many countries have secret mining claims in the Andes mountains. These claim to belong to the Peruvian people but in actuality, they are part of Chile. The United States took control of these mines and has blocked any attempt by South American nations to tap into the supplies. This is typical American behavior regarding these kinds of matters and they never give up and this is just one example of why America doesn't like these people.

But, Christopher Wanliss isn't doing talking about the gold rush. He then decides to tell the story of an Italian mining company that was trying to drill for gold in the Mediterranean. The company was dissolved and its assets were sold to the Chinese. The Chinese did find the deposits and began harvesting and refining them into gold.

After this, the Chinese turned their attention to Canada. They claimed rights to this area and began building what is now the Canadian iron and steel industry. Soon after this, tensions rose between the US and the Canadians because of this. After World War II, the US went to war with the Chinese and became allies. During this time, Canadian farmers suffered a great deal because of the trade war with the Asians.

Eventually, the US government negotiated a deal with the Chinese to help them build on what they needed in order to feed their people. When the US went to war in Vietnam, this led to increased tensions between Canada and the United States. This is why I can't support the war in Vietnam. At the end of the war, there were more tensions between the US and Canada than ever before. But, we must remember that this all came about because of greed and selfishness and not because either country was wrong.

Overall, I thought this was an interesting and entertaining little book. I think the basic lesson to be learned from this is that you have to look out for yourself and be careful about what you wish to do in life. If you believe that something will benefit you or make you feel good, then go ahead and do it. Just don't blame others if you get hurt.

What I liked about this book is that Christopher Wanliss brings it down to everyday life and shows us how we can relate to this situation. This makes it easy to read and enjoyable to read. I also liked that he doesn't sugarcoat anything or hide anything from you. There is no "I didn't try and kill him, but it looked like I did!" that you find with a lot of historical books.

The book also shows how with just a simple decision we can alter the course of history. That's a good way to get people to think about things. As an example, during the Spanish flu epidemic, Christopher Wanliss talked about how this event changed the face of history and how people acted and how this can be used to our advantage in our own day and age.

This is a quick and easy read that explains a lot and is a pleasure to read. If you are planning to write a book, I would highly recommend this one. It's a great primer on how life truly works. For history buffs and people who just want to know more about history, this is a great book to start with.
