Reduce Your Electricity Bill And Earn Money With Rooftop Solarby Diksha Sharma Blogger and writer
Solar panels have gotten cheaper over the past few years. Not only that, government, too has shown its support and spent money on the development of solar technology.
And one of the ways the Indian government has been going about doing this is through, net metering. It is an easy way to convert a simple rooftop into a solar power plant, making it a very viable and sustainable option at both the industrial and individual level.
Net metering is a process which helps the electricity board keep track of the energy consumed as well as generated by a solar-powered house. Henceforth, allowing consumers to transfer surplus solar power into the state’s power grid when they don’t require it, and receive a credit on their electricity bill.
Savings from solar can be up to 95% on your monthly electricity bills, according to a report done by PTI mentioned in India Today, which quotes a joint study undertaken by the CEEW (Council On Energy, Environment, and Water) and power distribution company BYPL (BSES Yamuna Power Limited).
To motivate people to install solar rooftop systems, the BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and CEEW have introduced some utility-led models.
-Community solar model: This solar model function in two ways, one, on-site and second, off-site. When talking about the on-site model, a group of consumers come together and jointly share the benefits of the system. However, in the off-site model, the benefits are further divided on the system installed.
-On-bill financing model: In this respective model residents get the option of installing rooftop panels and hence can apply for a loan from third-party lenders and later repay it through monthly electricity bill.
-Solar partners model: In this model, rooftop owners sign public-private agreements with developers who come and install the systems, which leaves the consumers. They can subscribe for the solar electricity generated and pay their share as per usage.
Moreover, net metering solar systems are installed on the rooftop of industries and residential houses hence they don't require large tracts of land like their solar park cousins.
Also, as they use the state-owned power grid as a giant battery, the requirement of battery backup is not there to balance out the power consumption through day and night. Hence, it reduces the expenditure on installation.
MYSUN is one such company that will help you install solar panels without any trouble, they take charge and get the work done. MYSUN is India’s largest online rooftop solar company with operations in multiple states in North, Central, and Western India.
The company provides their customers with the most advanced technology and highest quality solar services in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, and Noida among others across residential, industrial and commercial categories
