Rectangular Water Tanks: A better alternative for water storage

 Whenever, the thought of installing any tank cross our mind, the first thing that we worry about is space management. The good news is that there are easy alternatives available for water storage with effective features for managing the space. Whenever we are planning for the water storage solutions the thing that we must consider are the size of the family and the capacity needed.  The needs of water are diverse ranging from drinking, cooking, washing and numerous other uses. Water is the basic necessity for live on the planet; hence storing it also requires proper planning. Usually to meet the daily family water requirements the tank installed must have the holding capacity for meeting the requirements for two days period. The load of water is not static, it changes with the amount consumed and used. So, the storage tanks must have the strength to handle the load on various amounts.

When it comes to select the water tank the major chunk of the market still opt for the tanks that are made of plastic and not with very high fiber strength. The various options available are stainless steel tanks, fiber reinforced plastic tanks, plastic tanks, loft tanks  for house and apartments, insulated tanks for hilly areas and sheet moulded component can also be used as other alternatives.  There are various problems encountered while installing the tanks such as shortage of skilled labor and proper availability of the products in the market. Quality is always better in the factory made tanks as compared to the tanks that are made while the construction of the house. Now a days mobile water tanks are also common in various parts of the country.

 In case of the tanks that are constructed on the roof with bricks and cements the problem of leakage is very prominent as water is very strong agent. The thickness of the tank walls depends on the material and the holding capacity of the tank.. The tank also remains exposed to the harsh weather. When the water freezes in winter, it creates cracks, when such problems arrives the repairs are quite expensive for the tanks that are built on site. If there is a problem, the easy and cost efficient way to fix it is by chipping off the old plaster and using water proofing compounds to re-plaster the tank. Plain waterproof coats are also available in the market.
