Planning To Purchase ACP Sheets? Here Are The Precautions You Must Follow

by Rajat Roy Marketing Manager

It is needless to mention the benefits of ACP sheets. From being the best cladding to being fire-retardant, the popularity of ACP sheets has soared to an immense level.

Aluminium Composite Panels are durable, long-lasting and weather-resistant, and available in a wide range of shades, textures, features, and sizes.

Superior quality ACP cladding can even act as sound barriers by preventing external noise from entering your house.

By choosing the best quality ACP sheets, your building will stay strong for years to come. However, to keep the ACP cladding healthy, here are some of the precautions that need to be followed:

  • Store in a dry place – This is the first and the most important precaution to remember. It is essential for aluminium composite panels to be stored in a dry place with a temperature that is not more than 70 degrees Celsius. If the storage place is not dry then it can affect the quality of Aluminium Composite Panels. It is also necessary to ensure that the ACP sheets are away from chemicals and harmful gases.
  • Do not drag them – It is the worst thing you can do to ACP sheets. Dragging ACP cladding can damage the corners and make them look worn out. Make sure the panels are laid flat and all the sides must be lifted together at once and not one after another.
  • Flange bend must be done evenly – When the flange is bent, it must be applied evenly. Once formed, it must not bend repeatedly, otherwise, the aluminium composite panel will break. Once placed, the flange position shouldn’t be changed again and again as that could break the aluminium panel.
  • Maintain the flatness – The flatness of the aluminium composite panels must be maintained. This must be done to improve the panels to resistance to wind. To maintain the flatness of the aluminium composite panel and improve its resistance to wind, the ACPs must be lined up with a skeleton.
  • Must not be bend to an extreme level – ACP sheets must not be bend too much. The bending process must be done slowly with a bend radius of 30cm or less. It is also necessary to use a bending machine if the purpose of Aluminium Composite Panels is cladding decoration. It is always recommended to get in touch with a professional for the purpose of bending ACP sheets.
  • Maintaining uniformity while installing –  ACP must be installed on the same flow as given on the protection films they are covered in. If the uniformity or the flow is not maintained then it can hugely affect the overall look. The way how ACPs are installed decides the overall look of the building. It’s not just the shades and the unique properties, it’s the process of installation as well that matters a lot.
  • Protection film removal – It is needless to mention that ACP sheets and various construction materials come with protective films on them. The films must be removed within 45 days and if it is not removed then and kept in sunlight, it may produce glue when it is removed afterward.

Conclusion

These are some of the precautions one must follow to get the best out of ACP cladding. If you are aware of the precautions mentioned above, it will prevent accidents and keep the quality of ACP cladding perfect.
